Kyle Orton | Broncos

The Denver Broncos' naming of Tim Tebow as the starting QB for the duration of the 2010 season was met with joy from the millions of Tebowmaniacs across the globe -- they're like Hulkamaniacs, except instead of ripped t-shirts they have these, and instead of taking their vitamins, they can supplement with FRS.

But there is a downside for another Bronco in the wake of the decision. So what will become of Kyle Orton, who looked about as good as any other NFL QB earlier this season?

According to ESPN AFC West blogger Bill Williamson the future does not look bright for Orton to stick in Denver, especially since they can just bring Brady Quinn back on the cheap to act as Tebow's caddy. Then again, given all the teams in need of QB help, Orton may land a lucrative deal elsewhere.

the fact that he looks like a retarded dave grohl under a helmet makes me not want him with the niners.

no.
I just don't get it. The guy is miles ahead of anyone we currently have on the roster, yet you guys don't want him. Makes no sense.

All he did was win in Chicago, and now Denver. The defense was the problem, not the offense.

Yeah, why would we want a proven QB

McDaniels system makes QBs look like probowlers. If McDaniels became OC then I'd be in favor of it. Otherwise I can't see Orton more than M. Cassel II.

whats wrong with matt cassel? dude is balling this year
Isn't cassel having a good year?

For the right price I'll take orton you guys that don't want him are crazy. If we don't get a qb in the first I'd be happy with orton as our starter for a year or two. Who can we trade for thats better? Not like there is a s**tload of options and do u expect us to win the division with a rookie?

I don't see Cassel as the guy who is going to ever carry the team on his back. I believe that he benefits from a tremendous running game and Weiss' tutelage. He was looking like a bust of an acquisition before this year and I'm always skeptical of one year wonders - I was wary of him when he was in NE.

I wouldn't mind Orton for the short term. However, I strongly believe that we have legitimate pieces in place to allow a rookie QB to come in and succeed. I think our craptastic performance on offense is due to subpar gameplanning, an outdated philosophy and just bad QB play. A good rookie QB/OC/HC combo, I think, can rectify those issues.
