Gruden is a hot coaching name, but you are what your record is....................

I like what he did with the Raiders once he got a good QB. And with the Bucs he was never able to get his weapons. He had players like Pittman, Cadillac, Galloway, Clayton McCardell leading his team in stats, QBs like Griese, Simms, Johnson and an aging once great defense. That team was bound to struggle.

All he really needs to do with the Niners is find a good QB and fix the o-line, he's got decent weapons to work with. And the team's relatively young on both sides of the ball, he'll have longevity to mold the team and if he manages it right I think he's got a good situation thanks to Nolan cleaning up the salary cap mess and making it more manageable to be able to draft, sign FAs and replace talent as needed.

Fixed. (Sorry but your college coaching record is meaningless to the NFL)

And John Fox is someone who likely won't be out of work long, despite his record. Mooch...a lot of folks here would take him back in a heartbeat. And look at the coaches who have slighlty better percentages than Gruden, all known as very good coaches.

I'm not really sure if he's dissing or complementing Gruden

#18 with those names ahead of him ain't really a bad thing.

I think he is trying to hype Harbaugh, but doing so with his college coaching record does nothing. Winning in college and winning in the pro's are 2 different things.
gruden usually takes in bad teams and makes them good

so consiering he does that that is an extrmely good record bill parcels does the same exact thing however his record will be bad does that make him a bad coach NO

in fact wade phillpis >bill parcell by that logic

Easier said than done. Finding a QB is Gruden's biggest deficiency. People like to harp on Rich Gannon and Brad Johnson but selectively ignore the other (at least) 10 QB's he presided over and couldn't get to perform.

Personally, I don't worry about Gruden being able to improve the offense. If hired I'm sure he will. I'm more worried about him being able to bring long term stability to the QB position.

Not that my opinion means much here, but I can't say I have a lot of faith that he can.
f**k that list! Bill Walsh #1!!!! Dude changed the game.
