Any kind of new HC statistic?

My question is, is there any kind of statistic for a HC coming off of a multi-year coaching hiatus who comes back? Are they statistically better then taking a guy who has never left? And does being away from coaching for more years have any kind of an impact, good or bad? Wondering if the break from coaching helps or hurts?
For HC's out longer than say 2 years?

It helped Dick Vermeil.

Not so much Jimmy Johnson and George Siefert, Dennis Erickson, and Joe Gibbs.

Jury's out on Pete Carroll.

1 year...10 years, what ever.

Tom Coughlin was only out for a year between Jacksonville and his current tenure with the NYG and an SB trophy.

Bill Belichick is another like Vermeil who had great success after a multi-year hiatus.

I'd say Wade Philips was most successful in Denver than his stops at Buffalo and the Cowboys.

Tom Flores was successful with the Raiders, meh with the Seahawks.

Don't know that there's enough to draw conclusions either way. Vermeil and Belichick did end up with guys named Brady and Warner in their 2nd stints though.
