No I was being serious dude. As a rookie he already has total command of their offense and hits his WRs in stride and makes plays. He also gets rid of the ball quickly. When I said he might be the next Peyton Manning, I was serious. What makes me

is he's on the friggin Rams.

We are 31st in average points per game scored, remove the great play Mays made on special teams and we would be LAST. Considering that, it would be hard to say Alex Smith is better than anyone. The QB is the leader of the offense and when it doesn't put points on the board he needs to shoulder a huge chunk of the blame.

I'm pretty sure Smith has lost 99% of the support from the fan base. Even his most ardent supporters (like myself) have given up on him.

If Smith hadn't thrown all those ints this season, then maybe you could point the finger solely at Raye. But there's really no way to defend his play.

Alex did have a shoulder injury his senior year only he was playing for the 9ers
