Cardinals are looking worse and worse. So apparently Derek Anderson will be their starting QB now. I know he had a great year, and then several awful years in Cleveland. What was his problem in Cleveland? Too many int or sacks - or just couldn't move the chains?

I think his problem was that he played for Cleveland.

He has a big arm but isnt acurate.
He sees his WR's run down the field and he will launch the ball but wont put it where the WR is only that can get it .
He is a clone of JT O s**tty

For Fantasy Football purposes I think you can rank the skill positions players a little bit better with Anderson at the helm, especially Larry Fitzgerald. I tried to stay away from the passing game with Lienart there but Anderson has a much better arm.
With that said though, I don't really think it's going to help the team that much in terms of W/L's. The offense will be a little bit improved and they'll be able to score some points but Anderson will also put his team in bad position as well. He'll force a lot of a throws that Lienart probably wouldn't have tried and that will lead to a lot more TO's IMO.
Like stated above, he's essentially a JTO clone.

And I remember people lamenting the fact that Leinert decided to stay in school leaving us to debate over the crumbs: Alex Smith or Aaron Rodgers! i guess he chose to stay in school because partying and being the BMOC was more enticing than being a football player. His demeanor sure hasn't made him seem like he's interested.

This is a pretty shocking development. Not so much if you've been following Leinart's play in the first two pre-season games. He's a dink and dunk type of QB. Seems like the problem is that the Cardinals are not accustomed to that type of passer.
Derek Anderson definitely resembles Kurt Warner a lot more than Leinart. Warner was also plagued by high interception issues throughout his career. You could argue that his offensive line and receivers were poor, which is also why Derek Anderson might not have panned out in Cleveland. I'm also hearing that he habitually locks eyes with his receivers, which makes it easy to telegraph his pass reads.
That said, the Cardinals are in disarray. Their offensive line was plugged in the off-season by Alan Faneca, a washed up Pro Bowl guard. They lost Anquan Boldin, who was a good compliment to Fitzgerald. I think there's a considerable drop-off from Boldin to Breastmilk and Douchet. Warner made the 2nd and 3rd receivers look better. Under Leinart or Anderson, they won't be much better than Arnaz Battle. Cardinals fans seem to think that there will be no drop off from Karlos Dansby, Antrel Rolle and whoever they had on the edge to Daryl Washington, Kerry Rhodes and Jerry Porter. Porter might put up some sack numbers, but his run and pass coverage are poor. Next to him, you have a rookie filling in for Gerald Hayes and Kerry Rhodes, who is decent in some aspects but very poor in others. They still have major issues with their 2nd corner opposite DRC.
On paper, it looks like a 5-7 win team. They're going to give up a lot of points on the ground, probably quite a few in the air as well. Once you get to the second level of their run defense, there could be a lot of breakaway plays. Their offense looks like the second coming of Jim Hostler with Leinart at the helm. 3 and out, 3 and out...1st down, then 3 and out. With Derek Anderson, they will resemble Jay Cutler in '09. Multiple INT's every game, coupled with a bunch of sacks and likely fumbles.
Oh yeah, I'll add that if Fitzgerald goes down with an injury, this offense will have a VERY difficult time moving the ball.

I drafted Derek Anderson with the last pick of my fantasy draft last Saturday. Honestly, who didn't see this coming?

And just think had Leinart have came out in 05 we probably would have drafted him. So who'd you rather have? Smith or Leinart?

Smith has the better talent and work ethic.

Leinart would of already been cut if we drafted him. You really think he can withstand 5 OC's in 5 years?
