It's hard to compare recent players to players whose careers are already over. Before Chris Johnson's career is over he will establish himself as one of the best RB's to play the game. The list will change dramatically the next time. Tom Brady will be higher on the list and some recent players will be on it as well.

If you're saying Rice is an 80's player, then you gotta say Payton is a 70's player. Rice started in '85 and Payton started in '75.
