1. If you factor in ratings around the world, as in people in Europe and Asia who stayed up to watch LeBron and then Kobe....NFL draft got its' ass kicked.
In terms of world popularity....basketball is second only to soccer. American "football", aka rugby's b*****d child, doesn't even register. (not a personal judgment, I love football, having played it myself)
2. It's first round of the playoffs, viewership gets better as the rounds progress. TNT and ESPN set cable ratings records last year with NBA telecasts.
3. Real time ratings don't mean what they used to anymore....not with people time shifting/DVRing programs....or simply having multiple tuners in the same household watching multiple programs. So when I'm watching the Lakers at night, and my daughter is watching iCarly on her TV. What show is my household watching, Mr. Nielsen?
