joining the Cowboys of the 90's, 49ers of the 80's and Steelers of the 70's
is the New England Patriots, new Team of the Decade.
Had the Steelers defended the title this season we would most assuredly be having a debate. If the Colts would have beat the Saints yesterday we may even possibly be debating, but as it stands, the New England Patriots are definitely the team of the 00's
The Patriots won the Super Bowl 3 of 4 years and DOMINATED the NFL in 2007, at least up until that pesky final game.
I have also tried to rank the top 10 teams of the decade.
#2 Steelers. 2 Super Bowl victories and always in playoff talks
#3 Colts. Just the 1 Super Bowl win, but have been an elite team all decade
Why you got to play the game. #4 Giants, #5 Ravens, #6 Saints and #7 Bucs all won a SB in the decade and they all were successful for multiple seasons in the decade
Paper Tigers. #8 Eagles and #9 Chargers were both teams that were considered to be SB Caliber types, but they always failed to live up to expectations. A lot of Division Titles and Championship Appearances here.
For the final #10 spot of the most successful teams of the decade I had to give it up to 3 teams in a tie.
#10 Seahawks, ran the west for most of the decade and made an SB appearance
#10 Packers, usually end up North of .500 ball led by Favre and then Rodgers, not a bad decade
#10 Raiders, yes all their success was very early on but they were in Championship games and widely thought of as "cheated" with the tuck rule
Honorable mentions
Bears, Rams, Vikings, Cardinals, Titans, Panthers, Bengals, Cowboys, Jets and Dolphins managed to be competitive for the better part of the decade

Agreed. But if the NFL goes no Cap then there will be some owners who will most likely be successfully buying Rings.
For the record, in May I predicted the Jets would be taking the division from the Pats sooner than later

PATRIOTS?!?!?
They won super bowls with sub par talent...How? Remember the cheating the Bellichek did? How about the Tuck Rule? How about the Brady rule this year? Yeah Goodell and Kraft are buddies.
Imagine you run the industry and your best pal in the same business as you. If you busted him for cheating you would let em slide. Bellichek should have been BANNED from the league for doing that. It is a intentional, blatent violation of the rules where winning and losing means millions of dollars. Thas some sneaky ass s**t he was doing!
Players lives change when they win the super bowl. Imagine how many hard working players would be more sucessful if they weren't cheated out of a super bowl win or a chance at the win.
Patriots? No way. Give me the Colts. Good clean football.
