TO told USA today that he could have had Jerry Rice like numbers if he had better QB's throwing to him. Too bad he's screwed that up everywhere he has gone!

drops too many balls to even come close to JR. JR caught pretty much everything that came in his direction and at crucial times. TO dropped balls at crucial times but also caught balls at crucial times. he wasn't consistent like JR.
Damnit Willis search!

His argument that he has had poor QB's is somewhat valid regardless of what you think of him. Furthermore one could argue easily that Jerry Rice had outstanding QB's. And yes believe it or not that makes a difference.

He is a big mouth and has a reputation. He is also older now and has dropped off some. But I don't think anybody could argue TO in his prime with great QB's could have put up some real rediculous #'s. He is at least partially correct although unpopular.

Here’s the difference

If TO had Joe and Steve for his entire career he still wouldn’t break Jerry’s records cause he doesn’t have the same attitude and he drops too many balls.

yup
Great WR's produce reguardless of qb's, their TD numbers will suffer but their production still should be high and there are WR's like holding, Fitz, Andre johnsonand. TO is just like moss, had they not had their issues they could have have Jerry rice like numbers

Whatever his #'s would have been they would have been better than they are now. And they are real good now with bad QB's.
He complains he didn't have quality QBs? Shheeeshhh. Other then his stint in Bufallo he's had probowlers. He ruined his gig in Philly. Andy Ried orchestrated his offence around TO and he was putting up crazy numbers until he broke himself.

He's full of crap. Any of the good WRs the past couple of years could make the same argument.

another perfect example of him shifting blame to someone else. He was good, but he could have been better. He's been shut down plenty of times by good defenses, Jerry on the other hand.

What's sad is that even in jerry's last few years he put up rival numbers to T.O. even in his prime....

Go ahead Terrell, say what you want no one is ever going to believe you, or put money on anything that comes out of your mouth. Your integrity, character and attitude all show that you would never be good enough to hold Rice's Jock strap.

He could of been closer to Rice than anyone else if he would of not been such a b***h.

I think Andre Johnson is closer. TO just doesn't have the hands.

The problem is if TO had Joe Montana or Steve Young he would have still ended up at odds with them and wanted out becuase he can't get along with any QB for too long.

TO's best numbers of his career were with Jeff Garica not McNabb or Romo and look at how he treated Jeff.

He wouldn't have been at odds with Montana or Young. He hated on Garcia, McNabb, or Romo because he didn't respect them.

When TO was in SF and had caught "The Catch 2," Young and Rice were well-established. There was great leadership on the team with these two. These two were Super Bowl winners and some of the greatest players to ever play.

Later, when after Young retired and Rice left, TO was THE GUY. All the pressure was on him. And he evolved into the moron we all love to hate. He didn't respect Garcia OR Mariucci.

Same thing in Philadelphia... He didn't respect McNabb OR Reid... In Dallas, he didn't respect Romo OR Phillips.

But as for being better than Jerry Rice? I think he could have... so could Randy Moss... so could Calvin Johnson... so could Andre Johnson... so could Larry Fitzgerald... a lot of players COULD be better than Jerry Rice. But that doesn't mean that they ARE better than Jerry Rice.

The three aspects of Jerry Rice that make him untouchable:
- He was a complete player.
- He had longevity almost comparable to Brett Favre.
- He showed up in big games.
