Are they in contention for greatest QB of all time? Favre will have had 3 Super Bowls, with a handful of Passing Records. Manning has the stats to be the GOAT now, and a 2nd Super Bowl Ring could allow him to pass Montana...
Opinions?

bret will have 2, he lost the one to elway.
and i can live with peyton, he is an amazing quarterback. Joe will always be the best to me, and certainly the most clutch which isn't even close IMO.
Peyton might be the GOAT when it is all said and done but only cause he plays in the p***yfoot modern football where quarterbacks can't be touched and receivers can't be touched after 5 yards.

My opinion is that it doesnt matter. They are both already in contention for GOAT. I think Manning IS the best I have ever seen regardless of the outcome of this years SB.
From the players I have seen play and old enough to form an opinion:
1) Manning
2) Montana
3) Elway
4) Favre
5) Brady
Now comes all the hate from Niner fans. LOL My favorite of all time is easily Joe so take it easy on me.

well, montana won 4 SBs so he and bradshaw will be the only ones there. Both are already HOF qbs so this is just going to add to both of their careers.

I agree with your opinion on Manning, except my list would be
1. Manning
2. Montana
3. Favre
4. Brady
5. Elway
If Marino won a super bowl I'd put him at 5

I don't think Brett can be considered the greatest of all time, whether he wins or not. He holds the record for most interceptions thrown in a career.
And I already consider Peyton Manning the greatest of all time; he's probably the smartest QB ever, he's basically his own offensive coordinator.

That is the best point. To different eras. Today QBs can't be touched and neither can the receivers. It is the reason why passing stats and scores are much higher now than before. Look at Joe, his stats would be so much more if he didn't miss so many games cause of injuries. Joe took a beating cause defensive players could tee off on QBs in the past.
