"No question," said Porter, the Miami Dolphins' quotable linebacker, who meets Brady's New England Patriots on Sunday. "When a guy can tell a ref when to throw a flag and he gets it and stuff like that, he got his own rules. They made the whole [rule that you] don't go at the legs because of Tom. So when he feels that someone is coming at his legs, he just points at the ref and he gets a flag. So you've got to honestly say that he got his own rules."

100% true and so does New England generally.
But this is the same in every sport. Star players get star treatment. Michael Jordan used to do 3 steps around the basket all the time and never get a travel call. If Kobe bangs into somebody the foul will be on that somebody and not Kobe. That's just the way it is. It's not fair but welcome to life and sports and MARKETING OF THE BIG STARS.
The BIG STARS bring in the $$$$$$$$ and they do indeed get the calls to keep the chain going.
