I actually like the excessive celebration rule. Just not where it's implemented. I would like to see it implemented in the field of play. By that I mean no celebrating after a sack, tackle, catch or any of that nonsense. TD celebrations to me is fine.

The one rule I hate is only 2 challenges (or 3 if you get the 1st 2 right). Screw that you should be able to challenge at any point during a game. If you lose and have timeouts. Fine take one. If you lose and don't have timeouts. delay of game 5 yard penalty.

i assume you also hate the rule that allows vernon davis to catch touchdown passes as well..

but thats for another debate

No I hate the "Vernon Davis is a beast" rule when he's nothing more than.....

But you're right. That's for another debate!

Helmet to helmet rule.

Tuck rule.

Tom Brady rule

What the NFL needs to start doing:

Fining officials for bad calls at least a $500-$1,000

Replay on pass interference and holding calls.

3 challenges a half.

FG's over 50 yards 4 points.

College OT's

The FG idea is stupid. The college OT would be nice.

What's really stupid is the idea of using replay to determine if there was a penalty for pass interference or holding. That's like using replay to determine balls and strikes in baseball, it's a judgment call.

I think it was NFL Europe that started that. Let me correct it, I'm pretty sure 55 and over yards was 4 points. Most kickers in the NFL cannot even connect kicks in the 55 yard range.
Celebration, and the all the BS Quarterback rules
When did all the celebration rules start? Was it the Dirty Bird?

That was such a terrible celebration.

I remember everyone saying it was better than T.O.'s Sharpie celebration.

NO. No celebration has ever been better than that.

TO started all that s**t. The rest are pretenders. The joe horn one was f**king stupid. Ochocinco is the only one that comes close.
overtime, I like the college format for overtime where each team gets a chance with the ball. Though I could list a few more...
I hate it when a flag isn't called when its clear that the NINERS are being held.

i have no problem with the rules they serve their purpose.......

you cant remove pass interference or every deep strike play were the cb cant play the ball he is going to tackle the wr early

you cant take out the kicker protection rule just like the fair catch rule.....the two step rule gives enough freedom that the kicker would not be able to finish a season...

i love the idea of college overtime rule....
I just wish their was an official in the booth to ensure that the correct call was made. I don't think they should stop the game and review every call, but it wouldn't be hard to have an an official up in the booth looking plays over and buzzing down to confirm/deny the penalty on certain plays, especially: roughing the passer, holding, pass interference, defensive holding, etc.

For instance, if a ref had a chance to review Baas' holding penalty last week, they'd overturn that easily. The kind of plays are drive killers, which is vital when you lose be less than one score.

I think that guys who celebrate when their team is getting crushed should get a penalty... 15 yards for being an idiot.
