main reason 1st overall picks suck is because they go to crappy teams... I bet if you took half those players and put them on a bottem 10 team * I mean 20 something pick team* they'd have decent careers at worst

With the exception of David Carr, of course. But yeah, it's bad teams + giving them tons of money. You can't get better by overpaying someone that's never played before.
