Tavaris Jackson got hurt

Apparently he suffered a leg injury in practice. I hope it's nothing severe so Favruh doesn't come back.

Hate to admit it but if it is serious he does make sense. Vick, Peterson, and Harvin would make an interesting trio.

Minnesota is the only fit for him.

Not really, have we forgotten that before the Favre drama started they traded for Sage Rosenfels and he is competing for the starting job. They also have John David Booty who they drafted last year. If they need a QB they could always bring back Frerotte (most likely) or look to Brian Griese, Brooks Bollinger, Quinn Gray, Cleo Lemon or Jaime Martin.

Just because a team may need a QB does not mean Vick makes sense. Vick failed in the modified WCO they ran in Atlanta and Minnesota who runs a WCO requires a QB who can throw to open things up for them downfield not a QB who can run but has limited passing skills. Vick hasn't thrown a pass in 2 years and he has never proven to be much of a passing threat beforehand so teams would stack the box and force him to beat them with his arm and make that offense 1 dimensional.
According to Profootballtalk.com, Tarvaris Jackson underwent an MRI that determined his knee injury to be a sprained MCL.
It's believed to be a Grade 1 sprain, which could leave Jackson as day-to-day. If it turns out to be a more serious sprain, Jackson would miss multiple weeks -- putting Sage Rosenfels at the helm of the offense by default. NFL insider Adam Schefter doesn't expect Michael Vick to be an option regardless. It's too early for Brett Favre's entrance music.

Depending on the severity, they might drop a $15 mil spot on Favre and here we go...

If Vick doesn't make sense why draft Harvin...another multiple weapon guy? John David Booty will be a career backup he is not "the guy" in Minnesota. All the QB's you mentioned are over the hill and are not going to propel a team. Minnesota is a running team now which Vick excels in, the reason Vick was never a great passing QB was because nobody ever worked with him. He makes more sense then a possibly still recovering Favre, who at this point the players wouldn't want.

Harvin is a WR not QB, and they need a QB who can open up the offense. Harvin was drafted to add another dimension to the offense and to add another playmaker. Vick does not add another dimension to this team with his 53 % completion percentage. The QB's I mentioned may be old however they are in a better position to help win games for the Vikes than Vick who again has not throw a pass in 2 YEARS (and for the record Frerotte was 7-3 as starter last year for Minnesota).

And Vick was never a great QB not because no one worked with him (Knapp modified the WCO to suit Vicks strengths) but because he struggled with accuracy. You gonna tell me Mike Johnson and Greg Knapp didn't attempt to work with him on his weaknesses ? That's a piss poor excuse and outright BS. You think Chidress & Bevell can fix accuracy issues in a few weeks after he's missed 2 years ?

If Jackson misses an extended period of time the default QB is Rosenfels (who is 31 and has a career completion % above 60) who was already competing with TJ for the starting job unless Favre shows up and I'd bet the farm that they bring in Frerotte and not Vick as the backup.

If Frerotte was the answer why let him go? The other option that Harvin was brought in for was to be the wildcat guy which would place him in the backfield and possibly at QB. What harm does bringing in Vick at a vet min do, I cant think of any? Knapp was with Vick for 2 years hardly a real tenure at mentoring. If Rosenfels was such a great choice why all the questions about Favre....they want better!! Having Vick as a #2QB and using him in certain situation as a QB, RB, or WR wouldn't hurt the team at all.

They let him go AFTER they acquired Rosenfels who they felt was an upgrade over him and who they flirted with the idea of trading for the year prior. With TJ, Rosenfels and Booty, there was no room for Frerotte on the roster. They went after Brett because they felt he was an upgrade to both TJ and Rosenfels. If they need a backup why not bring back the guy who won 7 games for you last year and who knows the offense instead of a guy who hasn't played in 2 years, struggles with accuracy and has to learn the offense in a hurry.

They have Harvin to play the role that you think Vick should be put in, so where would that leave Harvin ?

Knapp for the record was with Vick for 3 years and his first 2 with Knapp resulted in his highest career completion percentages.

And Vick could hurt the team, how about in the locker room where it was already reported not all players were open to Favre joining the team. Wonder how they'd feel about Vick coming in ?
