Does Randy Moss have a chance at Rice's receptions touchdown record?

I was looking through the stats today and I noticed that Randy Moss has 135 touchdown receptions. He is currently 32 years old. He probably has six years left with Tom Brady throwing him the ball. I think he may eventually reach 198 besting Jerry. He also has a chance, pretty small, at the reception yards record as well: Rice 22, 458 vs. Moss 13,201. Thoughts?

I don't think he will break Jerry's TD record. He had 4 huge years two with 17 one with 23 and one with 15. Those four years account for over half of his TD. You take into account injuries and slowing with age he won't get there. It is very similar to marvin harrion

Problem with the 35 year old argument is that Moss has 3 seasons before he's 35. 3 years in a high powered offense in NE with a HOF QB. If he ends up with 170 TDs before he's 35, which is realistic he's got a great chance at averaging 7 tds per season for 4 years.

Sure he has a "chance"...I don't think he'll break it though. You can't perform linear projections of stats without any consideration of age causing a plateau.
One thing that separated Rice from everyone else was his sheer determination to play and continue to play...Moss isn't the best route runner and once he starts to lose some of his speed, his effectiveness will decrease substantially.
I thought that with Harrison's work ethic and route running in combination with a HOF QB, he had a decent shot at coming close...but look where he's at now.

That bad route running might actually help Moss b/c he' never took big hits across the middle like most WR's. He just runs deep and past people. I think he has a good shot of breaking that record.

I say NO. Even when he retires, he'll be only known as good player, not a great player. But maybe has a chance to get in the Hall of Fame, unlike T.O.!! For Moss to be in Hall of Fame, he better do some Superman moves these last 1-3 years.

T.O. is 2nd in career TD's behind Rice. He's getting in like it or not. As will Moss.
As for Moss. If his game was that of T.O. where it wasn't based on purely speed and he had T.O.'s body. I'd say yes he would break Jerry's record no doubt.
As it stands now. He has a chance to do so but only if he remains healthy for the better part 6 years.

No.
Brady won't be the same QB after the Giants exposed a major flaw in his game. Which also means Moss' stats will suffer.

Two reasons why I don't think he will beat Rice's records:
1. He's only productive when his team is winning. When his team is going through rough times, he loses interest. I don't see how the Pats can maintain the same level of winning for the next 6 years as they have the last 5 or 6.
2. He plays in the Northeast. It's a lot tougher to stay healthy playing on frozen fields. And he doesn't have near the dedication to fitness that Rice did. I just don't see him staying healthy enough to amass those statistics.

I dont think so.
He has no chance of his total TD record of 208.
208 firggin TDs Rice scored. Just think about that for a second.
