For perspective, Frank Gore is on pace to earn 1,237 yards (955 run/282 pass) from scrimmage. Frank currently has 4 TD's & 4 Fumbles.

And Shaun Draughn is currently on pace to acquire 1,440 yards (832 run/608 pass) from scrimmage.

Draughn has 146 yards on 40+ carries for a 3.4 average 11 games into season. Granted he didn't play every game and probably not even half. But how is he on pace for 800+ yards? Don't see 650 more yards coming in 5 games

"On pace for..."

Gore has played 11 games and on pace for...(for a full 16 games)
Draughn has only played 3 games but is on pace for...(had he played a full 16 games)

lol you can't be serious with this s**t. Taking a 3 game sample and running it out the entire season and acting like he's had a better year? C'mon dude.

just saying why is it crazy to do a projection for Draughn ?

Very serious...nothing more than giving us some insight into what we lost and what we currently have so that we can get an idea of what we might have going forward. After all, Gore is gone and Draughn IS here. Having Draughn's nice balance of run and pass will be an excellent compliment to Hyde (#1 RB) esp. when he's 100% back into NFL shape. Keep in mind too that those projections are based off 3 starts off the couch (small sample size) against 3 top 5 run defenses. So this isn't an exercise in minimizing Frank Gore but rather using his stats as a gauge for what we might expect going forward from Draughn whether he somehow ends up being a primary back or as a nice compliment to Hyde.

Totally reasonable. Don't know why people get so worked up over something like this.

My issue is your sample size is far too small to be reliable. Cmon, this is statistics 101.

Are you gonna look at Rawls and say he is on track for a 2400 yard season?

I hear you, and as you can see above, I fully acknowledged that...that said, if you are going to project out, this is a good time to do it b/c it was against 3 straight top 5 run defenses (and top 3 overall defenses) WHILE he is trying to learn an offense AND get into NFL shape again (off his couch), meaning, these are about as conservative of projections as you'll get. There is a stronger likelihood he ends up beating those projections over a 16 game schedule. Either way, it was just a tool and fun to play with.

The good news is that at season's end, we can revisit it as we'll have a full half-season of stats to work with and project out in 2016 (even as a primary RB).

PS: No, you can't use Rawls at all b/c that game against us was an NFL anomaly/outlier. And b/c of that, you'd probably need about 5 or 6 more games before projecting b/c by then, he'd fall back more closer to the Mean.

Not sure why we are evven talking about Draugh in the Gore thread. Its not like we dropped Gore for him. He is just a nice surprise. I don't see him as a featured back though. We need to draft another one. I have no faith in Mike Davis. The better comparison is with Hyde, who shows a lack of durability.
IF GORE WSA STILL HERE DUDE WOULD HAVE HAD 1100 YARDS BY NOW
