How? Orton is will get beat out by Chris Simms.

Whoever wins that competition will be in a great situation. My money is on Orton though.

We can also see how Jay Cutler, a guy who can physically do what any QB in the league can do will fair on an offense with less talent, but with a defense that can support him.

Bears defense wasn't so hot last year . . . ranked in the lower half wasn't it??

This is going to be very interesting. We have always tried to argue in support or against certain players by comparing their talents around them or how we think they would fair on another team.

Joe Montana proved everyone wrong about the fact that he could probably only make that 49ers team succeed and wouldn't fair well on another team.

This is going to be interesting.

Kyle Orton has a similar throwing ability as Jay Cutler does but he lacked talent around him. Now they switch roles. I actually thought Orton would be a good NFL QB when he was drafted so it's time to see.

Matt Cassell is the ultimate unproven QB landing on an uber talented offense. I wonder if he can give the NFL an encore, which will be difficult to do, but let's see if he can show to be at least an average QB.

KC has an uber talented offense? They've got Bowe who is impressive. They've got LJ who still has some miles in the tank. But who am I forgetting?

umm. i think he was talking about landing ont he patriots. and now does not have tht talent to help him look good.

hes got Marshall, Scheff, Royal, and alottttt of weaponsss. Wouldnt be surprised Orton goes 3,250yds 22td with a nice QB rating

Well you also have to take into account that with the Broncos defense they will be forced the throw the ball....a lot! With Cutler, their D should be good enough so their offense will get to have a better run/pass balance.

So while Orton could put up bigger numbers than Cutler...those stats won't equate to more victories.
I lived in Boston last football season and got every Patriots game on tv so I feel I can fairly critique Matt Cassel. He does not have the physical tools that Cutler or Orton have. He was simply put behind the best O-Line in the league with arguably the best receiver in the league in Moss and the playmaker Wes Welker. I think he can be great if he is in a great situation, but he won't single-handedly win any games. He doesn't have an extremely strong arm, has suspect accuracy when under pressure(more than most) and he locks on to receivers. He doesn't make adjustments at the line well and won't pick a team apart unless given ages to throw as he was this past year.

I don't think he is any better physically than Shaun Hill having watched both of them this past year and I think he still has to develop a little bit. He will, however, be a solid solid starter for the Chiefs.

Having said that, ex-Pats GM Piolli traded for him and the ex-Pats OC WANTED to trade for him so there must be something I'm missing.

Even Jeff George and Culpepper looked better with Moss. Let's not forget how an ancient Cunningham looked with Moss as well

I am going to go out on a limb and say Cassel>Cutler>Orton
Cutler will have a good year, but without a lot of talent will suffer. Orton is just not good.

that is a very bold statement.. i think cutler and his arm will find a way to make it back to the pro bowl

Its not a bold statement. Its called common sense. Go watch some old bears games from last year. Their O line was horrid and same to say for their Wide out core.

Orton has a lot of good WRs now with Marshall, Royal and Sheff. McDaniels and crew knew what they were doing. they got 3 picks and a decent QB who will get them to the post season with them drafting 2 Defensive players in the mid first round who will be ready to start.

I agree and all of you that are defending Cutler did you ever think that he has NEVER had a winning season in college and the nfl and part of that reason is HIM not the D or his supporting cast but HIM! SEE his 2nd most int's to Favre last season! Also most of his yards came because they only threw and did not run not to mention they were BEHIND most of the time...prevent D. Evidenced by his great amount of yards (4,500) and ONLY 25 td's with Marshall Royal and co to throw too. Shaun Hill would of had more than 25 measly td's if he played the whole year.

I am really interested in seeing how Cassell does. I am not sure he is going to be as effective outside of New England.

Vanderbilt doesn't too often have winning seasons in the SEC.
