Oregon players just ball out. Look at Buckner.

And Armstead

So real question. Why was Hurt starting over him?

seniority im guessing. But i think the change at QB was because saban saw that Georgia game planned so well against Hurt. They knew every move he was going to make. So Saban threw in Tua because he had a different skillset which pretty much blew up the Georgia defensive strategy. It worked!

you could tell though that Hurts was not in the game mentally. especially after the first quarter hurts was beyond a deer in headlights. I was shocked they didn't make the move halfway in the 2nd quarter.
it wasn't that georgia game planned so well. hurts was checked out man. he had his WR's open and he would not throw it. sure he was under pressure a few times, but he was not there. as a coach no matter how bad it hurts you pull that move. lol bad comparison but Vikings at Bears on MNF, Bradford was so shell shocked & scared Zimmer yanked his ass near the end of the second qrtr.
IMHO Hurts does not have the mental makeup to play QB. Either he needs to change positions or give up on football because he has no future at QB. We saw this a lot over his Freshman year. he has had the benefit of playing behind a solid OL, with insane RB's & WR's. he's got it made...yet would make it painful to watch.

Tua's skill set isn't all that much different, except a tad more elusive but he does one thing different. He throws the ball, and is not afraid to throw the ball. Hurts just won't throw it.
Tua reminds me of a LH Marriota. that could be come deadly for bama. if Bama had a true pocket passer....fk they would be unstoppable
Bama will be unstoppable with Tua at helm. 3 straight National titles. Book it Danno!!
2019 first overall pick?

I get Hurts was 29-2 as a starter...but that's because 'Bama bulldozed just about every opponent. This kid really gives their offense a different dimension...very impressed at what I saw Mon night.
They replayed some of the Elite 11 stuff from last year and Dilfer gushed about this kid. He said his Pro Day was up there with Luck's. Tua won the MVP for the competition.

Pretty cool show, especially if you've never seen any Elite 11 stuff. Fromm competed as well.

IMO 3rd round pick, good arm, but his height will hurt his stock. He looks more like 5'10" than 6'0".

He's at least 6'0. During the on-field post-game he was almost head to head with Marisa Taylor that black female reporter who is 6'2 and you know she was wearing heels or something.
