According to CBS big board, assuming we are drafting in the top 3, anything goes.
That said, pass-rusher or FS (unless we trust Ward's health and ability) would be my priority. FS Fitzpatrick seems to be a very good prospect, DE Chubb is an athletic freak at 275 pounds!

So what do we do in the 2018 draft now we have Jimmy G?

Trade down but I want to see OL and a #1 WR as top priorities.

I would try to get the best Center and Guard in FA. Then draft a second round OT that Shanny likes the best. Then go on filling holes. They also need to draft or bring in some decent DBs.
Definitely trade out of our 1st or 2nd pick and get the best CB in the first along with a first round WR talent.

Trade down if we can and fix that stinky line is priority number 1 both on FA and the draft. Gotta protect Our new FQB!

I'm hoping something similar to the 2016 draft takes place, Lynch trades down a couple spots for a boatload of picks!

Definitely trade down into top 8
Then trade down again into top15 but no further
Pick there and trade back up into bottom of the first like last year.

Unless a future HOF guy drops in our laps, we need to trade down for more picks, we have a lot of holes...
Offense: Center, Guard, Tackle, WR, You could include TE and RB as well.
Defense: Outside Pass Rusher, CB, LB, S, maybe some better depth on the D-line.
I don't think there's a position, other than QB and defensive tackle, that we don't need to upgrade, depth is an issue as well.
It's going to take another big free agency and draft to fill all our needs.

So I appreciate there's a draft forum but it's less visited and often more about specific players or position groups rather than strategy.
Draft forum has less traffic in season but greatly increases once the season concludes.
I see you moved it already.
This thread will be dead by then, I wanted a more general discussion on the ramifications of Jimmy G.
Edit: The thread also includes FA, would you feel better with it in the main forum if I had just said off-season?
Draft and FA have their own respective forums. Offseason is for the offseason, we are currently in season.
We still have a season to conclude and discussions surrounding the draft and FA are preliminary. For now these discussion belong in the appropriate sub forums.

Dudes. If we get the 1st or 2nd overall pick... it's possible to trade down AND STILL get Barkley. Those first two picks will be QBs no matter who declares.
Garoppolo is off the market. Cousins may be franchised or re-signed. QB needy teams are f**ked. They will need to get somebody via the draft. That means teams will trade up as high as they can to secure the top two guys -- even if it's just Rosen and Allen.

Trade back. Recoup enoigh picks that negates the Grop trade and draft WR, James Washington.

I don't know about that actually. There is a stronger sense that these QBs have sucked compared to even last year right now. The second QB went 10th overall last year as well. As of right now, I doubt QBs go 1 and 2.

Depends on how Cleveland perceives Barkley. I could see them seeing him as worthy of #1 and don't want to take the risk he's gone before their pick.

Trade back, pick up 3-4 picks, draft Calvin Ridley, Mike McGlinchey or Derwin James in the 5-12 range
