I haven't seen any posts on this kid yet, and he's been ripping it up this year for Notre Dame. He's only a Junior, but if he comes out early, does he leap ahead of Barkley, especially if he wins the Heisman?
For the record, I'm a huge Irish fan, and this kid has played well in every game. He's 6-2 and 225 lbs, but he's shifty and fast hitting the hole. Once he gets to the second level, he hits the jets, and is hard to bring down.
Let me know your thoughts.

Pretty good back but I think he is largely a product of amazing blocking than anything else. When you have the OL that Notre Dame does with multiple linemen expected to go top 12 in the draft, you would expect a lot of RB's to have success. Not that he's a bad player by any means but there is not a chance in hell that he ever leaps in front of Barkley for anything.

It's absurd to compare Adams to Barkley. No one is forgetting about Adams just because he's a Junior - he's just not very good. Barkley is also a junior, but there is a lot of discussion about him because he's a special talent at RB.
If Adams comes out, he's a likely 2nd or 3rd round pick. He's big and has good straight line speed which shows on some of his 70+ yard runs this year. He doesn't break a ton of tackles (he's not like Guice or Fournette) and he isn't shifty at all. He's putting up better rushing stats than Barkley because he's playing behind a much better offensive line with 2 likely first round picks (McGlinchey and Nelson). He's not nearly the same threat as a receiver out of the backfield either (Barkley's versatility is what makes him special - I'm not sure he'd be a top 15 pick if he wasn't such a good receiver).
I'm a lot more excited about the left side of ND's offensive line than I am about any of their skill position players (St. Brown is probably the best draft prospect for ND after McGlinchey and Nelson though).

I'm probably not the best to compare Adams with Barkley. I'm currently living in Germany, so my college football options are limited. I've seen a lot of ND games this season, and I've seen Adams squeeze through holes that weren't there or bounce outside when a hole closed up, which is why I mentioned that he was shifty. Granted, I've only seen highlights of Barkley, so I can't really speak to his talent. If we could get Adams as a 2nd or 3rd rounder, then I'm cool with that.
We definitely need to address the offensive line, and I hope we go BPA , whoever it is, to rectify that. I'd certainly be happy with Nelson at guard. McGlinchey is a decent tackle, but, he's had is share of miscues with pass protection, and I believe he would be converted to guard in the NFL.
Either way, I have faith the Lynch and Shanahan have already identified areas of weakness on this team and will start plugging those holes via free agency and the draft.
