my underrated WR who i think will shoot up boards in the offseason is Simmie Cobbs form Indiana. Dude is huge, runs great routes, and has amazing hands. Reminds me of Julio JOnes, but not as fast. He always catches with his hands and wins jump balls. He completely abused Ohio state's secondary this year

Haha, totally forgot I looked at him also.
I have him listed as a OLB, I see him as a WILL and MIKE, would be great next to Foster in our defense IMO.

#1 I definitely think we are signing Cousins.
#2 Then with our 2nd or 3rd overall draft pick we will trade it to the highest bidder.
#3 I would then target OG/OC-ZWR-LEO in no particular order.

Cousins seems to stay on the radar screen. It would be nice if, either through signing him or as a result of Beathard's development, we did not need to draft a qb in the first round. It would depend on who was still available when we were drafting and how much we were offered for the pick. Receiver and pass rusher are musts but I cant help wondering if FA isn't a better approach for the O line.

I think the shine on this QB class has kind of worn off. The QB position being so damn important I think we'd be smart to sign Cousins and then draft another rookie in this class. I think Mason Rudolph will end up going early in the first when it's all said and done but I'd love to grab him if he's there in the 2nd round or if Josh Allen falls take the chance and let him sit and grow behind Kirk and CJ.
Best case scenario we have 2-3 franchise level QBs. Perfect world it ends up being CJ and the rookie so we have an elite QB for a longer period of time then work a trade. I think us having so much cap room we'd be smart to sign Kirk and frontload his deal so after year 2 he can be easily moved or cut if we have a better QB on the roster.
I still really like Josh Rosen but he scares me upstairs which will kill a QB faster than anything.
At this point if I'm calling the shots I'm going after Kirk then trying to trade down in the first round and hope a QB needy team falls in love with one of these guys like Chicago did with Mitch and sends us a mountain of draft picks.

Hopefully we have some good options.
Option #1 - Sign Kirk and get a boatload of picks. Worst case is we cant trade out of pick 1 or 2 and select the BPA.
Option #2 - Draft the best QB available with the first pick
Option one is probably the least risky AND would give us the best opportunity for a quick turnaround. The drawback would be what if we passed on a top 3 QB for Kirk Cousins? Kirk is good but he certainly isn't a top 3 QB.
Option two is a lot more riskier than 1. Best case is the rookie QB comes in and shines immediately and we live happily ever after. Although the most likely scenario is the rookie struggles for a couple of years and this rebuild takes 4 years. Also a decent chance the rookie QB is a complete bust.
I guess there is a third option in that CJ Beathard is the man and we follow option 1 but spend our FA money elsewhere. That would be the best case scenario.

Shanny said it best yesterday when asked what the most essential foundation pieces are: edge rusher and middle LB on defense, and left tackle and quarterback on offense.
Target those and then address the ancillary positions after.

Not saying he should be taken in the top 5 of this draft which is where the Niners will pick but its because of his mechanics and not his school.
Agreed. Don't care that Darnold attends USC. Just don't like him as a #1 pick.

One(Palmer) USC QB out of many FLOPS,no thank you Darnold does not have Pro qualities to make it in the NFL, but hey think what you want, I would not want Him as a Niner QB....here`s a list of USC Flops:MATT LEINART,MARK SANCHEZ,Matt Barkley,Cody Kessler,John David Booty,] Todd Marinovich, and the List goes on...need I say more.
LOL. Still retarded to pass on a QB based on what school he goes to. Different head coaches, different programs.
Again, I am NOT saying the Niners should draft Darnold. I would prefer they sign Cousins and move down the board to get a huge haul from a team wanting Barkley or Rosen. However, if Darnold was the #1 prospect and Shanny loved him I couldnt care less what school he went to.

Sign Cousins, the best G and C in FA and draft Saquon Barkley and we should be good for a while.
