I've been thinking about a way to incorporate this into my big board and I just couldn't so I decided to make this a separate thing. What is everyone's opinion on the value of a player based on their draft position and bust potential? My definition of value is how much will you have to spend (ie draft position) to get a player and are they worth that. For example, I do not think Kaaya is the best qb in the draft but if I was a GM and staking my career on a qb I'd much rather take Kaaya in the 3rd and mess that pick up versus a top 10 pick on Trubisky and mess that up.
Additional Notes: McCaffrey while not my favorite RB gets a bonus because of what else he can bring in case he fails as a #1 RB.
If this is well received then I will put together a defensive value board.
Here is what I've come up with:
QB
Name Draft range Bust Potential
1. Brad Kaaya - 3rd round or later - Medium
2. Deshaun Watson - Mid to late 1st round - Medium
3. Mitch Trubisky - Top 10 pick - Medium-high
4. Deshone Kizer - Late 1st to early 2nd - Medium-high
5 Patrick Mahomes - Mid to late 1st round - High
RB
Name Draft range Bust Potential
1. Christian McCaffrey - Mid 1st - Low
2. Alvin Kamara - 2nd or 3rd - Medium
3. Leonard Fournette - Top 10 pick - Medium-low
4. Dalvin Cook - 1st or 2nd - Medium-high
5 D'Onta Foreman - 3rd or 4th - Medium
WR
Name Draft range Bust Potential
1. Curtis Samuel - 2nd to 3rd - Medium
2. Cooper Kupp - 3rd or 4th - Medium-high
3. Corey Davis - 1st - Medium
4. Zay Jones - 2nd or 3rd - Medium-high
5 Mike Williams - 1st - Medium-high
TE
Name Draft range Bust Potential
1. O.J Howard - 1st - Medium-low
2. Evan Engram - late 1st or 2nd - Medium-low
3. Jake Butt - 4th or 5th - Medium-high
4. Jordan Leggett - 3rd or 4th - Medium-high
5 David Njoku - late 1st or 2nd - Medium-high

The accountants and stat geeks tell a completely different story about Mahomes .
I like the board though, nice work. Would love to see a defensive one.

I don't think so. I think his value (based on my definition) has greatly shifted recently. I think most people agree that he can possibly be the best qb of the draft or his gun slinger mentality and questionable footwork could cause him to fall on his face. Basically, now that people are talking about him as a mid to late 1st rounder his risk is too great. If he was still talked about as a 2nd or 3rd rounder then he would've been #1 on my value board.
