Why are people so butt hurt when someone is questioning something 9er / player related??
Again.. I have no beef or problem with someone being smart and wanting to play football.. Just saying one of my fears of this draft is that Garnett may not be the guy with the nasty steak and be a staple on the offensive line for 7-10 years like Joe Staley! I'm hoping he won't be just a one contract guy.. It's one thing being smart but it's another when ur passion is different and you want to do/ become something different in life.. i just asked which of 9er picks are u worried about most.. That's all.. And mine was Garnett...
We have had 2 UsC linemen and 2 Stanford linemen in past 10 years that were rather high picks without love for the game and did not succeed well just to jog your memories..

Very childish
Probably you are a loser without real job like quest4dix.. Don't need to bs to impress u.. Have my season tickets and am a die hard 9er fan like u or most others on this forum.. Just follow this forum to learn and associate with bright minded fans like AB81 or MadDog
Don't be mad that some people here have real careers and not on welfare like you

OK gents, stop.
Eman, if you call another poster childish (particularly when they weren't being) your posting rights will be suspended. I have adjusted your warning level to take into account the unnecessary personal attack on another poster. I don't know if you are a medical doctor and I don't care. But others here have decided that you are not and you did make it rather fundamental to your argument.
Others: I don't much care whether he is a doctor or not. I suggest you adopt the same approach.
No more personal stuff guys, and if this thread continues like this it will be locked.

I hope and pray Garbett will be an all pro for years to come .. Wish him well
I don't care if it takes him few years to develop and will be patient as long as he shows the passion to be the best.. Never mind he plays LG where Beadles plays or that he is not quick footed which is helpful in chips style of offense.
It's just that in this day and age of CTE, awareness of concussions and shocking early retirements, you can't fault me for being anxious when I hear his passion is to be a surgeon.. Not that I'm trauma surgeon but it takes time to complete premed requisites .. Takes time to pass MCAT the u need 10 years to be trauma surgeon after that.. Of course I'm proud another brother like Samkon Gado is trying to realize his dreams.. But unlike other smart offensive linemen like Beadles who is an engineer, he can't just go out start a career..
I want players like Ronnie Lott .. Fearless, live for football, willing to chop off their finger to go back out.. After Borland and Anthony Davis, I'm just afraid to feel let down again .. remember folks.. Even Anthony Davis' college coach said he will be one contract player.. And apparently Baalke didn't heed the warning

Very valid points. I also fear the same thing, I can see him playing like 2 years making some money and then leaving for med school before his brain is scrambled.

What's the point of making these threads? I just don't get it.
I'm sure we all fear that all of these guys will not live up to expectations/potential and we'll see another 2012 like draft. But it's not going to change anything. These guys have been drafted and whether we fear about their talent, dedication, injury status...whatever, it will not change a damn thing.

Um why wait for the personal stuff? Theres plenty to be nervous about in this draft, besides whether the outland winner wants to be a dr.
Vikes never should have drafted that page guy, wanted to be a judge.

Didn't bother me one bit that he wants to be a surgeon.. It's his life and he is allowed to plan his future after football. David Shaw was on NFL Network talking about his toughness and willingness to bring the fight to his opponents and that he loves football. Marvin49 made a YouTube video of every player we selected this year. Please go and watch it. Around the 4 min mark they begin talking about Garnett and Shaw had very high praise for him. Idk, I just trust his coaches assessment. I thought he gave a fair, unbiased assessment pointing out strengths and weaknesses. Love for football was not a weakness according to him

Agreed. WTF?
With that logic, everyone smart enough to get into Stanford and play football isnt going to hack it in the NFL...
Garnett was viewed by many as the safest interior OL in the draft. At very least hes a mauling run blocker.

Right lol...dude was the Outland winner which is best interior lineman on both sides of the ball. Garnett maybe smart but loves banging heads. He said he wants to run through people's souls, I'll take a bunch of that lol!
You tell me if this is a "soft" smart guy

FYI this guy wanted to be a Niner bad and even went to the local pro-day but didn't have to at all...I'd take a whole team of Joshua Garnetts

this is why i have come to HATE this board...
I felt like this guy was going to be a bust.. and with some inside info too... however when i said what i felt, everyone was jumping for my throat... this is what is sad about the state of the 9ers fans.. there is people here that would blindly eat and all the crap the media will feed them and not use their head...
really.. I called it that he was going to be a bust... (still some people will come and say oh wait its just his second game.. well, usually you hope first rounders usually don't wait till mid season to start and still get rocked!)
we need to draft players with passion for the GAME!!!!!
I don't see any bad dog attitude in AJ Jenkins, Armstead, Buckner, Garnett
