I hated the draft. 3 DBs we will cut 2 of them. Robinson kicked off team arrested. We have maybe one open spot for a DB. It's like we only took sleepers. We will get bad grades from every expert.

Buckner - A, easy pick top 10 pick but probably wanted stanley so had to take the next best option
Garnett - C+, was originally higher on this pick but he is a supbar pass blocker and probably wasn't necessary to trade up. Could have had Whitehair in the 2nd even if Garnett was gone.
ACL CB - F
STICK FIGURE CB - F
Burbury WR - B
the rest of the guys were all F's
Still didn't address OT, RB, WR, ILB with good prospects.
overall grade = F as in F baalke

I say C+, B-.. built depth, tackled needs at last years weaknesses, but no real game changers or impact guys.

We needed a linebacker. But I like that we focused on the trenches

B would have been an A+++ if we drafted a few more cornerbacks

I gave it a B. We will see how it turns out. Both lines needed to be addressed and they have been. Now, it comes down to coaching and hard work. Can't wait to see what happens!

I gave him a D
I agree with most of what you said, but I think I'm a little more into the 6th round guys than you are.
Driskel I am willing to give Chip the benefit of the doubt on. Until he proves me wrong, I'm going to assume he knows what kind of QB he wants (even if his time in Philly points to the contrary)
Burbridge I kinda like. He seems like he could be an okay 3rd string guy down the road. But it feels too much like Patton to me. We waited and took a just okay guy when we really needed to target a guy that could potentially start. There were some pretty good guys that went in the mid rounds we could have used. Or even just a round earlier we could have gotten Listenbee or the other Mike Thomas.... Another year, another ho hum warm body at WR.....
Kelvin Taylor could be good. But again, there were other guys I liked more. Kenneth Dixon was one of my favorite RBs in the draft, especially for Chip's system. And he went SO LATE... And Perkins.... Even at that spot I would have preferred Lasco...
Am I the only one that feels like we really needed some play makers on offense and didn't even try to get any?

Considering this was the first of two rebuilding years, I give it a B+.
Baalke got a bunch of guys for the trenches that will protect the rest of the team while they develop. Some of those guys will still be here in 10 years. Line gets A.
Not disappointed or surprised with all the CBs. Though we already had some young guys in the secondary, there no real standout back there. Redmond and Robinson could be better than any of the current crew. B-
It will take another good draft to put this team back in the playoffs, in the meantime, this draft provides a great foundation.
I am just fine with no skill players on offense. We haven't had a real offensive coach here since Turner left. We may have more than enough offense to compete once Kelly gets a chance to work with them. Our problem is that the previous coaches never used any of the young guys so we have no idea what they can do.

I'd say A-. I liked it for the most part. 1st round was awesome.
The mid-round shotgun approach of drafting a ton of CBs and OTs was a little wasteful in my opinion. If from among the 2 OTs and 2 CBs taken in the mid rounds we net a quality starting CB and RT, then I'm ok with it. But anything less and those picks could have been diversified a bit.
My biggest complaint comes with the 7th round selection. I mean, f**k.... a 3rd CB in the 7th? Scooby Wright was sitting there... could have added good depth at ILB.
ILB is a major need that was not addressed. Other than that though, it was a fantastic draft. Yeah, we need playmakers on offense. But you can't get that with mid-late round picks. We have plenty of young offensive playmakers from previous drafts. At some point (next year) we need 1st and 2nd round talent at QB and WR. But for now, build up the OL and the defense.
