This is the guy I want as well. Man if he can slip into the 40-50 range I hope Baalke can move up for him.

I can see it happening, with baalkes job supposedly on the line. I could easily see him trading next year picks to save his job.

that would be okay since we will have a ton of money to fill holes next offseason

We don't normally do this...but this year I am down with it. We need elite talent now, not more average joes and not next year or the year after. With the cap space we have if we need to mortgage a few mid round picks we can always be a little more active in free agency should more needs crop up than expected.

My only issue is he's purely a pass rusher he's awful against the run. It's one thing if he falls in your lap it's a whole other thing if your trading a bunch of picks to move up.
Why not wait until the 4th and get Jordan Jenkins or Matt Judon..... or wait until later and get Roy Robertson-Harris, Dadi Nicolas,Victor Ochi or Alex McCalister?
We aren't moving Brooks this year and we have Lynch, Eli, Tank all wanting snaps.

Do you think he's elite talent though? I like him but the more I watch the more I saw how bad he is against the run.

Awful against the run? I disagree. He shows great discipline at setting the edge and shows good disengage and pursuit. Now running at him he can't shed very well once a lineman is into him but if he is taking a blocker on and not getting pushed out of the play I am okay with it. That's what Bowman is for

We need another guy that can compete for a starting job! We need to package some picks and go up and grab Jack or Spence! A 3rd round pick next season is equivalent to a 4th round pick this season. We should package our third this season and next to jump to the top of round 2. Balke has missed on 3rd rounders as much as he's hit on them. We have enough backups with potential. So what if Jack is going to miss 7 months somewhere in the next 10 years. We would still have an elite talent at ILB.

Maybe awful was the wrong word sorry...he's not very good.
An NFL scout who spoke with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said that Eastern Kentucky edge rusher Noah Spence is a strict pass-rush weapon at this point in his development.
While some are scared off by Spence's past drug use and off-field activity, at least one scout who spoke with the Sentinel is also uncertain about portions of his on-field play. "He doesn't know how to play the run at all. My biggest concern is, this guy runs under blocks in the run game. He's just a DPR (designated pass rusher) right now. He's a boom or bust." Other scouts who chatted with the outlet brought up the obligatory character questions, with one saying, "you have to decide if you want to put up with him." Apr 29 - 2:45 PM
Besides the drugs which I think are in the past flee does have issues setting the edge, not saying he can't get better but to basically move all your picks for him I don't think it's worth it.

If they find a way to get back into the second for Spence, this draft is a slam dunk.
