Personally I feel playmakers will be wasted until we can protect the QB, get after the QB, and defend the QB. Oh, and maybe figure out who our QB is going to be.
If this year can help sort that out, next year we can worry about playmakers.
Plus, with Chip in the house, it should be more about the system. If we have a QB he can work with, an oline that can do what he needs and give the QB a little time, and a D that gets the ball back, then he should be able to make even average to good players work with his system. And once it's in place, we can get him better play makers.
But as we have seen in the past, the best play makers in the world don't mean jack if your QB can't get them the ball because either he sucks and/or he has no time to throw. So, I think we need to try and get that answered first.
