Read I took Lynch, Spriggs, Garnett and Butler over Buckner. You can't trade down and then completely disregard all the players you got for the deal. It wasn't a pick 7 for 24 deal. Your telling me you wouldn't take them guys over Buckner.
Anyone would take all that over Buckner, except there's no way all those players will be there where you got them. Maaaaaybe Spriggs, but Butler and Garnett are likely 1 whole round late.

I know it's fun to play "Pretend" but this is really Fantasy Football.

Dislike button.
Too many hypotheticals and after all that we work our way out of immediate impact/future star talent at the top of the draft.
If you register a 5-11 season, you better darn well get a top flight talent in next year's draft. Shuffle around after that all you want to amass mid round picks, but i'll be pissed if this happens.

None of us know where guys are going to get drafted. I've seen Garnett mostly going in round 3. The point is the 5 or so extra picks can reload this team in a hurry if Balke don't mess up. I just don't think we are one player Buckner away. I would rather turn that pick into a 1st and 2 2nd round picks and hedge our bets. Especially with Baalkes history drafting offensive players.

It matters who u pick not where u pick them. New England finds players later in the draft that turn into probowlers. With no free agency for the next 2 years we need the extra high round picks.

Were you their when the jets had 4 1st round picks. Look what Tennessee turned that one player they would of had into. You really think Tunsil is better than all them picks they got. Unless it's a franchise QB no one player is more valuable than 3 or 4 high picks.

Not to be rude, but your ideas are crazy. Our 1st round pick is going to be any where from 1-8 next year, BOOK IT. You really think we're going to be in the teens? The only way I'm down for trading down, is if Buckner or Tunsil aren't there at 7, then I would trade down very slowly, like 2-3 picks at a time if need be, and see what we can get each time, but when our guy is there, then we need to take him, and not risk losing our chance at him by getting to cute with trading down.
Here's to hoping Buckner is there at 7, so our front DE's are set, and then we'll see what falls into the 2nd. Garnett will be there, but if there's a better O-lineman that slides like Whitehair or someone else, then that's the pick, otherwise we need Garnett to help our RG spot, and make Chip a very happy man.

I stopped reading after I saw Lynch at 24, with the Jets sitting at 21.

That was kinda my point...this mock is a dream, not related to reality. Will there be trades...sure. Will Baalke make 5 of 'em...very unlikely.

Well I'd sure be stoked with that draft. Although with all those picks in that range, I'd love to get Ogbah in there. I do like Carrea, but just not quite as much.
Funny thing tho....
Almost every year I find myself thinking the best thing to do would be trade down in the first and up from everywhere else and end up with all your picks in rounds 2 and 3. Because to me that always seems like the best way to get a bunch of the players that I want.
But the one time I've ever seen a team do this it was the pats a while ago. They somehow had 4 2nd round picks and I thought for sure they'd set themselves up with that. But instead they came away with no impact players and bunch of ho hum guys. I think you could even argue that draft may have cost them another SB.
So even though I love what you've done, I'm also ok with the reality that it will never happen.

I think that's where you went wrong, we're not New England. We've hit on some players late but NE is the best and most consistent at drafting. And I'm not sure I understand the last part.
