Trade 49ers trade the 7th pick, a third rounder this year, and a third rounder in 2017 to the Cowboys for the 4th overall pick.
After missing out on the Sean Smith and Josh Norman sweepstakes, Baalke finally grows big enough balls to at least be able to trade up a couple slots when Jalen Ramsey is still available at #4. Maybe moving up those couple slots costs more than two third round picks but we'll just say this gets the deal done for the sake of my mock lol.
Round 1 Jalen Ramsey CB/S- We get our Patrick Peterson/Tyran Matheiu. Versatile, big, athletic, can be an all pro corner or safety. What else could you want? We have been trying to get top corners in free agency, so it's possible we might make a play at Jalen Ramsey.
Round 2 Robert Nkemdiche DE- Very talented but inconsistent play and some character concerns. Was a projected top 5-10 pick for a while, but falls down to round 2 and we take the bait, f**k it.
Trade- 49ers trade Colin Kaepernick for a 3rd round pick. I don't think he wants to play for us and I don't think we can repair the relationship, so off he goes.
Round 3 Connor McGovern OG- Strong and pretty athletic, versatility so could maybe play tackle as well.
Round 4 Keyarris Garret WR- Big wide receiver with the ability to stretch the defense. Reminds me of Josh Gordon.
Round 4 Jaylon Smith ILB- We land another Jaylon who was expected to be a top 5 pick prior to the injury. If he recovers very much worth the risk.
Round 5 Tyler Ervin RB- Carlos Hyde's compliment. We need speed and quickness at the running back position and versatility on offense.
Round 5 Jeff Driskel QB- Big and athletic, maybe he can be something
Round 5 Dadi Nicolas OLB- Who's your daddy? Speed rusher

We literally have 2 serviceable tackles on our roster. OT needs to be addressed with a real tackle and not a guy that can maybe play the position.

Tough to give up a high 3rd when Jack or Buckner will be there at 7. I think LB is a bigger need. We can get by with our CBs if we improve our pass rush!

Like this mock a lot too, but would be very surprised to see Jaylon Smith there in the 4th round or Nkemdiche there in the 2nd round.
It may be more realistic going OG in the 2nd round and Jaylon Smith in the 3rd round. If Nkemdiche makes it to our 2nd round pick, I'm all for taking a flier on him though. And I'm all for trading Kaepernick even if it's for a late rounder to get even more cap space in 2017.

I get Ramsey's a baller...but I'm thinking the best, fastest way to build a dominant defense is the front line. The player I'd support Baalke trading up for is Buckner...guys like him just don't come along very often. He arguably would need to move up to #5 (worst case scenario) to get him. That's just a guess, given the first two picks are almost certain to be QB's. Guys like Tunsil and others will slide down some...we really don't know how that'll impact the top 10, but there will be an impact. Buckner is the best DL in this draft...not just my opinion, but one shared by a big majority of NFL analysts. I don't see how Baalke can afford to pass that up...and I don't think he will. Other than that, that's a good 5-rd mock.

Let the draft come to us, no need to trade up. In fact, trade back a couple of spots to get #9-11 plus trade what we get and lower picks to get an additional later 1st early 2d plus our own second. Stanley/Dodd/wr or QB?

If there is one player in this draft that Baalke would trade up for, it's Ramsey. If Chargers pass on Ramsey, I could see Baalke trading up with Cowboys.
Niners still need to get edge rushers though in this draft, as well as OL.

hate it! I'm a huge FSU fan and love Ramsey but drafting ANOTHER DB (4 in the top 50 in 4 years!) no thanks. This draft is chalk full of CBs. Nke is a crazy fool that runs hot and cold on the field. Let him be some other teams headache.
I like the rest of the players you targeted but not seeing pass rush until the 6th and only one OL drafted

I get your points, but Ramsey is one of those rare players with extreme talent. I think he might be the best player in the draft. You can do so many things with him. It gives your defense so much more flexibility in the plays that they can call and the frequency that they can bring more pressure. Maybe an olb pass rusher in round 2 and a tackle in round 3 would make this a better draft because nkemdiche is a risk, you're right. And we probably don't have room to be taking risks in round 2, but man when he's on is he talented.

Moving up for a DB would not be in the best interest of the team IMO. We are stupid young at the position. I still say no to drafting yet another DB in the top 50...again. I also don't see Dallas moving down from what I've read he's their #1 on their board. Also I see Ramsey as a pro-bowler at safety but not a CB. We are fine at safety.
Pass rush will make our secondary much better. I'd rather wait it out and see if Bosa, Jack, or Buckner fall to us, if not trade down with the Titans (who want Stanley) or the Phins who want Zeke. Grab the best OT or Lawson in the first then you have two 2nds to grab someone like Garnett and a good CB like Xavier Howard or Jackson both I like a ton.
I could live with this in the 1st two rounds (trade down):
Lawson
Garnett
Jackson/Howard

Here is what they need to do, trade what ever you got after the 4th round and maybe something from next year to get 2 more 2nd round picks. You grab up the best player available in the first (Buckner). Then take a beast of a running back in Derrick Henrey at 6'3" 250 followed by Joshua Garnett and Jason Spriggs to finish out that zone scheme with a line and a couple of backs to beat up and change pace with the best of them. 3rd round take Joe Haeg for depth and future on the line, and Scoobie Wright in the fourth to fill out that front seven. That is a draft that would be a foundation and give us an identity that could scare people. Solid

This is what I'm hoping Baalke does, trade down in the 1st and pick up an extra 2nd. Lawson, Garnett and Howard (believe Jackson may be gone by then).
