I think it would be insane to pass on him if there.
I think each team has a better handle on what his medical status is. If they think that the injury will hinder him long term, they would be wise to pass on him.
Brandon Roy in the NBA had a promising career end as a direct result of a meniscus tear, it got to the point where he had trouble just walking without pain. Eric Bledsoe is another whose career has been marred by meniscus injuries. A torn meniscus is usually straightforward to recover from but when there are complications, it can be worse than an ACL tear.
If Buckner is there at 7, and we trade back, I'll be very angry. Now, if someone like Bosa slides to 7, and we can get a good offer to move down a few spots, then I'm game for that, because Bosa doesn't really fit a 3-4 in my eyes. I can't wait to see what happens picks 1-6.
I used to think Bosa wouldn't be a good fit in a 3-4 either, just by watching his tape I didn't think he had the lateral quickness or coverage skills to be a OLB
The combine proved otherwise
Bosa had a faster 3 cone drill and 20 yard shuttle than Aldon Smith
The only thing suspect about the possibility of him playing in a 3-4 would be his coverage, but at least we know the intangibles are there.
I agree I have no issue with Bosa turning into a 3-4 OLB he can be used all over the place IMO.
Kolohe added this clip in Bosa's thread at 2:50 I think he can become good enough in coverage when asked to do it personally.
I would be so happy if we drafted him. Heven uses his hands so well when he rushes, would be a perfect olb
I thought we all knew better than this Baalke is gonna pick up a guy with a 3rd round grade because he fits what we are trying to do... lmao I'm tired of passing up impact players for projects that's why we are in this predicament. Never assume your team will stay healthy or older stars will play a constant high level. Take players that can push the older players for there job, and if they better replace them take a chance on players in the 5th or 6th round not 1st-4th. Get quality nfl starters make this team into a bully and don't stop making it into a bully. Don't ever take your draft for granted based on your teams last year's performance its the NFL stuff goes downhill fast..always improve add potential starting depth throw them into the fire and whoever comes out alive starts... iron sharpens iron..... sorry for the rant but my coffee was good this morning.. I hope we get this right.

I want BPA at 7, if Baalke trades down, it should ONLY happen if he picks up another second round pick in 2016. Moving down a few spots to pick up a 5th or 6th would be a waste, but that is what usually happens.
The most logical trade partner will be Tennessee. They want Tunelsil or Stanley, if the Niners trade down to 15 they can get a good DL or ol PLAYER at 15, the pick up a 2 areas of need in round 2. Not ideal, but could happen.

If I remember correctly Roy had knee issues in college even before he had the meniscus tear? Kinda think being 6-6+ and playing 80 games a year is worse on the knees too
I got no issue with them taking Jack if his BPA. His pro day and numbers (40 inch vert) showed me he's well on his way...well will see!
Unless a great offer comes we will go BPA. Thats fine with me. With that in mind Im curious if we take Elliot. He may be BPA at 7. Hyde is good, but this kid could be special and they could share the load. Hyde hasn't been very healthy either. Just a thought.

I think the Rams trade makes a trade down more unlikely in my opinion. We're guaranteed either Bosa, Jack, or Buckner if two QB's go before we pick.
No telling how the team feels about Jack. If the concerns about his knee are legit then he may be off their board for the first round altogether.
People are assuming that its just a smokescreen but he went through an injury that is normally far less severe than an ACL tear but he still isnt at 100% at this point so who knows how that ends up.
Good call!
Personally, I wouldn't draft him at #7 because of the injury.
We have so many needs we don't need to take the risk. AND it is a risk.
Get Buckner or trade down if he's gone.
Agreed. I really expected him to be at or at least closer to 100% by now. I'd rather draft Buckner if he is there, if not, trade back and get an extra 2nd. This draft is very deep with OL and DL talent

I am begining to think that way too-how ready is Jack, don't want another Lattimore or even Tank, those were not bad because they were not first rounders. You worry because he won't run the 40. If we trade down, we may not seem to get a superstar, but we will get a better team, as their are 22 pieces to the puzzle.

Nope
If anything there maybe a team wanting to trade with us to get Elliot.
After watching him play for his whole career I have no doubt we can use him at OLB and at DE when we are in a 4-3. It would be great to have a OLB that knock down tackles. If you doubt his skills watch the video of him picking up the RB and throwing him at the QB. Or the or one where the QB was talking smack on the sideline saying they were going to have to knock him out the game to win and Bosa knocked him out the next play. I say we wait if Bosa or Jack are their we take them if not we trade back with the Titans so they can have Stanley.
I'm fine with trading back. In fact, I think the best thing to do would probably be to trade back in the first, and then use what we get from that trade in combination with our other picks (but NOT our 2nd) and trade back up again into a pick somewhere between the late first and early second round. Then we could end up with 3 picks between the mid first and mid second, potentially getting us something like:
Lynch or Cook
Doctson or Treadwell
Ogbah or Floyd
If we can come away with potentially high end starters at QB, WR and OLB in the first 40 to 50 picks I think we'd have a good basis to build on. Then we could use the rest of the draft to stock up on OL and D.
