HI all!
Long time member and reader here but hardly gets a chance to contribute in this forum.
Like many of you, I knew that we are in a rebuilding process after a few retirements and defections from the last 2 years. I think we have some young nice players to build from and with this upcoming draft, we can solidify our starters or add some more competetion and depth. But the area that I was so disgusted watching was our Offensive line. I was hoping the team addressed some of this issue thru free agency, but I'm OK that we didn't for the price that some of these players got. I also don't know what to make of the Anthony Davis situation. Will he come back and be in shape? Traded? If he doesn't come back, are you ok with Trenton Brown as your right tackle? Is he a fit to Chip Kelly's offense?
Anyway, my favorite players for us in this order: Goff,Wentz,Buckner,Jack. If they're not there I would like to trade down. If for some reason were not able to trade down. I wouldn't mind this:
1. Ronnie Stanley- plug at RT, eventual LT if Staley slips, retires or gets injured. Oh Bye Pears!
2. Vernon Butler- DE- opposite Armstead (if he's gone, Chris Jones DE
3. Christian Western OG/C- here is your ZBS guard/center. Bye Devey!
4.Tyler Ervin- RB- perfect for Chip' offense
4. Nick Kwiatkowski-ILB-tackling machine that can play 3 downs. Should also be a special teams demon.
5.Kyler Fackrell-OLB- solid rotational that can cover.
5.Charone Peake-WR-added competetion
5.Nick Vigil-ILB- another fast one that can play 3 downs and hopefully supplant Wilhoite.
6. DJ Reader- NT- good rotational player.
6.Vernon Adams-QB- whatever
6.Cyrus Jones-CB- developmental
As you can see,I would like to solidify our fronts from both sides. It's important that we stabilize our offensive line, weather it's Gabbert or Kap is under center. I also don't like the OLB crop from this year. We can find values on ILB later in the draft.
Well, let me know what you guys think!
Frank

I think Fackrells ceiling is 5he 2nd rd, and his floor is the 3rd 73rd.

it's a realistic way to look at the draft and rebuilding a team...I think you went heavy on the LBs though. IMO I don't see how they don't draft a QB in the top 100. How does Jones drop to the 6th just curious where did you get your rankings?
Thanks man!

I would hate to go OT that high with Davis in Limbo. I feel you on hitting the lines hard.

I've been checking out quite a bit of profiles. I got Cb Maurice Canady (Virginia)mixed up with Cyrus Jones. Give me Stephen Weatherly in place of Fackrell. IMHO,other than Bowman and a serviceable Hodges, getting 2 fast ILB to rotate is important. Especially,if our defense will be seeing the field more. Wilhoite and the rest is upgradeable. As for Stanley pick, he will be plug in at RT. He's the backup LT for now and Brown first off the bench to RT. I also feel that once the line is solidified, I think Gabbert and Kap(maybe) will be better. Until Davis situation is sort out, I wouldn't trust that dude until he files his paperwork and show up in shape. If he's still in limbo by draft time, I want an OT.

Other then Stanley in the 1st its a very good draft..i don't want an OT at 7 unless its Tunsil falling which will never happen..love your next 4 picks after..I was so close to putting Kwiatkowski in my 1st of 2 mocks bc hes a Baalke guy in everyway..

With Trent Brown likely to be our starting RT, I wouldn't spend a #7 pick on an OT. Rather, I'd go big on defense there, doing whatever it takes to land Buckner. A bigger need is OG, because I'm not sold Tiller's the answer there...not when there's a chance to land a player like Garnett early in the 2nd. I'm not counting on AD yet because he's shown no serious signs about getting reinstated. If he comes back with the right attitude, fine, but I don't want him as a distraction. Getting Buckner and Garnett would be the optimum, IMHO. It significantly strengthens both lines...and potentially provides more bang for the buck than Stanley and Butler. Other than that, I like your mock.

Thanks! I hope Buckner falls too. But if he's gone I don't mind the next tier of DE such as V Butler, Chris Jones or Kaufasi. Defensively, Just need to improve our front 7. Our secondary unit is young and got potential. Maybe get a terror OLB next year if Tank,Harold don't show any improvements,Lemon is garbage and Brooks is older and may be gone by next year.Offensively, a QB, OG/C is a must and then depth/competition for the rest. It's exciting to speculate how this whole thing will unfold the next couple of weeks.

Good draft!
IMO, I'd rather trade down and get Conklin at Guard and be able to move up to get Butler since I feel his stock will be rising fast.

Thanks, I don't mind trading down. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think someone mentioned Conklin should be a RT in the NFL. I chose Stanley for our future replacement for 32 year old Staley. Maybe Garnett/Westerman/McGovern at Guard later.Lots of good players that should fit Kelly's system. I hope Baalke hits them right this time.

Agree, just trade Davis if he decides to come back. We don't want malcontent players that may poison the locker room.

Greetings......
If you could replace Tyler Ervin- RB with Bronson (the coaches son) I believe he can play OLB at a probowl level.
I could give your mock draft and A.
. Ronnie Stanley- plug at RT, eventual LT if Staley slips, retires or gets injured. Oh Bye Pears!
2. Vernon Butler- DE- opposite Armstead (if he's gone, Chris Jones DE
3. Christian Western OG/C- here is your ZBS guard/center. Bye Devey!
4.Bronson KaufusiDE12Brigham YoungSr6-6285

Yup, I like Bronson too. Maybe Garnett at 2, Dak At 3rd, Bronson at 4th. But some people project Bronson at 3rd maybe even 2nd?
