From listening to someone I respect a lot talk to me about the way Goff processes on the field, I think the 49ers should target him above all other players, so I would be a 1.

I want Goff more than any other guy in this draft...whatever number that is to you.

Camp 1. Goff is a franchise QB. You don't pass on a franchise QB. I don't care if you have Aaron Rodgers; you don't pass on a franchise QB.
I'm a huge Connor Cook fan, but I want Goff too.

If he's there at #7, you take him. You don't trade away needed picks to move up, you take BPA if he's gone and grab Dak Prescott in the late 2nd, early third.

Blaine Gabbert > Dak Prescott.
...maybe equal, but advantage Blaine.

Right now yes...3 years from now I think that gets reversed.

1) If Goff is there at number 7 you draft him. If not u take the BPA and improve your roster. What I don't want to do is to draft a Prescott or some other clown just to draft a QB. After Wentz/Goff and maybe Lynch the rest look to be at best backup QB's. After those 3 there isn't any QB prospect better then CK or Blaine Gabbert in my opinion.

The guy that teams are raving about due to his intelligence and QB IQ is a "clown".....cool story.

I was just using Prescott as an example. I don't want the 49ers wasting a pick on a flyer just for the sake of taking a QB. I'd rather take Goff with the #7 pick and then draft a d line player in the place of a developmental type QB. This is a deep d line class.

1 . . . And they should trade up to get him. If Goff turns out to be as good as A Rodgers and becomes a franchise QB, who wouldn't be willing to give up draft picks to have that type of QB? If you say that he'll never be an A Rodgers, then, now, you are evaluating a QB and making a judgement call on how good you think he'll become. Which is the hard part. So, where is the greater risk, passing on a high rated QB or giving up multiple draft picks to acquire him? That's also assuming you 'hit' on those multiple picks. I understand the more picks you have the better your chances are to find a good player. However, if you pass, then you'll be guessing how high in the late 1st or early 2nd rounds will you have to go to get Cook, Lynch, Prescott, etc. And even then you'll probably have to include other draft picks. I just don't think you can wait and let the QB come to you. Too many teams need QB's. I bet Houston wished they had taken a chance on Bortles than that sure bet Clowney. And yes, that's hindsight, but a clear example of which is the greater risk.

How do you know they'd be drafting a guy "just for the sake of taking a QB." What if it turns out that they really happen to like that quarterback.
