Ias far as Oliver t's not all about sacks it's about pressure which he was very good at...he's only 25 and I think it's safe to say his best years are ahead not behind him (I'd rather overspend on a young player). He's the best pass rusher available in FA and if he was getting 10+ sacks a year we wouldn't even be talking about signing him because he'd be getting Justin Houston money from the phins....and like you said that's the going rate the cap is the highest it's ever been and it's only getting higher, players are going to be getting more money regardless it's all about inflation.
I stated in the mock we would trade Kap, that's the reason we got Goff...we won't be heading into the season with Blaine given the keys there will be competition and Goff will give him it.
Blaine will beat out Goff, as he should. He catches a lot more flack than I think he should. He managed to make a pathetic prehistoric offense at least watchable and I think he has all of the necessary tools to thrive under Kelly. I just want him to take more chances, particularly on 3rd downs. I think he will probably beat out Kap as well although I'm hoping Kap can get it together and thrive under Chip....assuming we don't trade him.

all depends sometime your nerves come back just ask Manning...he's still young and if we can land Freeman we wouldn't need him for at least a year. could be a waste of a pic or it could be the steal of the draft it's worth a 4th comp pick IMO.

I'm guessing our horrible OC and coaching staff played a part but I can't watch Blaine throw 4 yards short on 3rd all year lol.

our O-line still seems weak.

How so? We have our pro-bowl LT in Staley, Schwartz and Westerman both fight over LG, Kilgore is back at center an healthy, Tiller was the 18th ranked OG last year plus Westerman can fight for that spot, and we have Davis back at RT plus Brown is there for competition.
Also I'll add that we have a much better coaching staff and QB situation
You have to be realistic with FAs and baalke isn't gonna pay a OG $8+ million just not gonna happen.
This scenario makes the OL much much better.

agreed. He HAS to be willing to take some chances. That was truly my only issue with him. I thought he worked the pocket well, went through progressions well, was accurate (those 3 INTs vs the Bengals weren't all on him), very quick release, comfortable outside of the pocket and keeping his eyes downfield, showed great athleticism and when he did take some shots downfield, they looked good. That quick trigger on 3rd and long that would net us 3 yards is something that I expect Chip to clean up

This would be a perfect draft in my eyes. You think Smith will last till the 4th? Didn't an injured Tank go in the 2nd? I really don't know, but I'd be thrilled with the pick!
I really think Baalke needs to not over think the first pick and just go with Goff. If he turns out to be a bust, big deal. Most of his picks are anyways

Most of his picks being "busts" is the main reason why we still have so many holes to fill despite having 29 draft picks in the last three years

Tank just had a torn ACL no nerve damage...Smith is gonna be out for at least a year. It's a big gamble but it could pay out big I mean that's what the draft is all about
IF we trade Kap we have to go QB...if Kap is on the team for the year than we go Buckner and it messes up my whole mock LOL.

i dont see how jaylon smith would last until the 4th rd. hes the best ILB in the draft. every round each time will get at least one chance to take a superstar that would have to sit for a year due to injury. i dont see all 32 teams passing on him 3 or 4 times no way

It's been reported that a bunch of GMs have taken him off their draft boards...
TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports that "There are a number of teams who think [Notre Dame LB Jaylon] Smith could fall into the draft's last day."
At the NFL combine, LB Jaylon Smith (knee) said, "It will be a long-term decision for any team that takes me."

Well with me i am not at all confident in Davis returning to pro bowl form and not completely sold on Brown. Yeah i think Brown has a future as a really good RT but he still needs time IMO. We cant rely on him to step in and play like a veteran
Schwartz is okay but i would want to beef up our line as much as possible. Would rather go after his brother, Mitchell.

I think everyone would rather Mitchell instead of his brother, hes younger and better which means more expensive..plus I think he would want to be starting at RT and I'm unsure that happens with Davis coming back..

He's gonna command $10 million a year and we have Davis under contract until like 2019, plus putting another RT ahead of brown stunts his growth IMO.
We need guards a Geoff has shown to play well when healthy...throw in westerman and tiller (plus Thomas is still a unknown) there's a lot of youth there.
I also added Johnstone and Seumalo in the draft both who would be drafted higher if not for injures.
