Considering leaning towards Kaep getting traded, draft Goff at #7 and trade up into lower 1st and get Jason Spriggs, athletic OT who fits Kelly's system.

Love that!
As long as we get some offensive help in FA
This works for me.
2 OLine starters from FA + some solid picks in later rounds

I have serious doubts of Spence falling to #17, after the Niners, you have the Bucs at #09, Bears at #11 and Eagles at #13 who would seriously consider Spence.

20-30 is a more realistic range for trading the 36th and 70th pick. 22 for 36 and 70 is considered an even trade and if we're trading up targeting a player who falls, I don't know if we'll do much better than that. CBS has Jaylon Smith ranked at 27, so maybe there's a chance we trade up with our 2nd and 3rd round picks to get him and end up with Goff and Smith
Probably wishful thinking hoping both guys fall.

I was just reading the dumbest article by a Rams fan on turf show Times. He suggested the Rams trade their 4th and 6th round pick to move up and get a top 100 pick, giving them 5 for the entire draft.
Rams 4th 80 points
Rams 6th 21.4 points
99th pick in the draft is worth 104 points. To get back in the 3rd round (95th) overall, you need 120 points.
I feel this question is along the same lines. We can't trade a 2nd and a 3rd for the 17th pick in the draft. These trades have point guidelines in some form.
9ers 2nd round 530 points
9ers 3rd round 250 points
780 points is worth pick #22 in first round.
Obviously the draft trade value chart is not set in stone, but I think it's fairly accurate. It gives a general area to target when moving up or down in assessing value.
If the 9ers wanted to move up to #17, it would most likely cost them 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks. And maybe another pick. Depends on the circumstance.

We traded our 3rd to Dallas to move from 31 to 18 to land Eric Ried.

That was considered a lopsided trade in our favor. Trading from 36 to 17 is even more lopsided (especially given there's a bump from 1st to 2nd round pick values from the 5th year team option). We'd be lucky to get to 21-22 with that trade.

Cowboys 18th pick worth 900 points
49ers 31st and 74th worth 820 points. The 49ers picks were worth the 21st and maybe 20th pick in that draft. Still, it's not an outrageous trade for the Cowboys especially if they had no desire to select a player on their board in that spot.
Could the Cowboys have gotten an extra pick from the Niners? Maybe. Maybe they tried. If the 49ers balk at the demand and the Cowboys don't have a trade partner, what do they do? They are forced to make a pick they had no intention of making. There's a lot of scenarios that could've or didn't play out here.
But the difference between that trade and this trade being suggested is double the difference in points to move up. 170-80.
For whatever reason it's not quoting you guys. User error!

Fine then trade down from 7, pick up ammo to trade up with our 2nd boom two 1st round picks and we can land a combo of Noah Spence, Jaylon Smith, or Andrew Billings.

It depends on two things the one with the high pick not like what they are seeing at that spot and wanting more picks to fill more hole. Usually if the one wanting to move up initiates then you have to pay more than the points. It also depends on what a team feels about the talent level through out.
You can move up easier by trading for next years pick which is an unknown because you don't know how the team will do and how well the talent will be.

I love it but Baalke doesn't have the stones to pull this off

Some people love Baalke's drafts, some hate 'em. I think this draft you can expect big things...he knows full well there's a lot to be done. He understands he needs to deliver, especially with Kelly on board now. It could the the last NFL stand for both guys. So, I see a solid partnership between the two...it's in their best interests to move forward together, in-synch.

Vikings traded just a 4th to move up from 40 to 32 to get Bridgewater in 2014. Wonder if we can do that to get a 5th year option on another guy.
