49ers trade down to 16 with Detroit for their 1st and 2nd round pick, Detroit takes Treadwell 7th
1st round pick 16th Jaylon smith OLB debated with spence here but I will stick with the all American without a drug problem we don't need another aldon smith.
2nd round pick 37 Cody whitehair OG and plug and play guard that can start Day 1.
2nd round pick 46 Jason Spriggs OT I'm not sold on Davis coming back in shape and playing well. At the worst we can cut Davis and save 7 million dollars.
We trade Kapernick to the Browns for their 3rd round pick 65 plus a conditional 4th rounder 2017 depending on how well he plays. We pick SS Von Bell to replace Bethea and maybe Reid in a year.
We trade 3rd round pick 68 and 5th round pick 133 to Houston for pick 52 2nd round we select Braxton Miller WR
Round 4 pick 102 traded for 2017 3rd round pick
Round 4 pick 129 Vernon Adams QB could be the next Russell Wilson can sit for a few years
Round 5 pick 130 Jarron Jones NT
Round 6 pick 160 Jalin Marshall Wr/KR
Round 6 pick 188 traded for 2017 5th round pick
I drafted offense heavy so we could concentrate on defense in free agency
Cut Brooks, trade Kapernick, cut pears, Bethea, don't resign Boone or bolden or Williams
Free agents
NT Harrison from the Jets he's young and bigger than Williams and is a prototypical NT the top NT in the league makes 4.5 million a season so we can afford the upgrade.
Sign Wilkerson or Malik Jackson for DE spot
Sign trevathon LB Broncos him and Jalyon smith fills out our LB core
Sign Coby Fleener TE Colts
Sign Boykins CB Pittsburg
Sign Guard Mathis Broncos 2 year deal he's still playing at a high level and will be cheaper than Boone and he can mentor or Yound guards until 1 is ready to step up.
I know theirs a thousand actual GMs on this site that are going to tell me exactly where each pick is going but I think this is a nice draft and we could end up getting 3 or 4 starters in this draft. Keeping Bolden for another year won't get us into the playoffs but he would take away from all of our young guys getting playing time. And yes I know Mathis is 34 but he's still playing at a high level and I'm hoping the third round picks we used on Martin and Thomas will give us a starter in a year or 2. I think Spriggs and Whitehair can start season 1. I think we all know Gabbert isn't our QB of the future so when he stinks it up we grab a QB high next season. The worse Gabbert plays the better the QB we can get.

Don't understand why you would draft Jaylon Smith and sign Danny Trevathon. Both would be ILB's for the 49ers so unless you're planning on cutting Bowman I don't see the need. Smith is listed as a 4-3 OLB on some sites (and would be a damn good one) so maybe that's where the confusion came in.
If you're looking for an OLB with the first pick, Ragland or Noah Spence have the size to play 3-4 OLB. Spence is the better pass rusher of the two and should be available at 16.
You could also swap Spriggs and Whitehair. Spriggs is ranked higher on most boards and played pretty well at the senior bowl. Whitehair is the top ranked guard on some boards, but I don't think there are any guards worth taking in the early 2nd round.

Don't get everyone's hardon for Adams? He's not a great QB and has baby hands unlike Wilson....I just don't see it.
Why the hell who you grab Danny T and get smith? Smith would be a ILB for us not a OLB like spencer...enough with the Aldon smith comparison...Aldon had zero issue coming out of college. People can change for the better or worse as we've seen.

Ragland has the size to play 3-4 OLB but I think he would play ILB in a 3-4.

Read his profile on NFL.com Jaylon smith has the skill set to play any LB spot in a 3/4.

Saying he can play any linebacker position in a 3-4 or 4-3 doesn't mean he should or that he'd be just as good at any position. NFL.com also says he is better suited to play in space as a 4-3 OLB which I agree with. It seems like a waste of his coverage ability to move him to 3-4 OLB when he's undersized for a pass rusher. I think he'll be in the 230's at the combine which is lighter than our outside linebackers have been recently.

This. He is a first round prospect but certainly not because of his pass rushing abilities. He is a 3-4 ILB or a 4-3 OLB.

Cody Whitehair will NEVER, i repeat NEVER make it to pick 37. I will be surprised if he gets past the Jets @ pick 20.

If we can squeeze a 3rd and conditional 2017 4th out of the Browns for Kap, I would be very impressed. But in order to do that, we would have to eat his contract as he will more than likely still be rehabbing until or after April 1st.
I doubt we sign Boykins, who Chip cut in Philly because he wanted more size at the position. I doubt we sign Mathis, who Chip cut in Philly as well. I would love to bring in Harrison, Jackson and Fleener as well as another OL in Free Agency. Wouldn't be opposed to drafting Smith at 16 but if we do, no need to sign Trevathon as Hodges can man the position until Smith is ready.
You have us going heavy on offense and spending quite a few dollars in free agency but our pass rush is still not addressed

I just love all thes junior GMs on here that knows more than the experts. I guess our defense would get worse with the best LB in the draft playing OLB. A 3/4 OLB does not have to be 250/260 there is no rule that says so. Levon Kirkland played 3/4 ILB at like 270 LBs. Your saying that he cannot beat a tackle to the QB because he's standing 4 feet to the left, your saying that he can't drop back in coverage and cover a TE and your saying he can't tackle a RB. He's got speed and speed kills. You guys that are guaranteeing were guys are or are not going are full of $hit! Every expert projects 60 different players as possible 1st round picks! Do the math 29 of them possible 1st rounders are going in round 2 or round 3 or later. The only requirement for a OLB is to stop the run, Rush the Passer and drop back in coverage. He can do all of them. I guess we would really suck having the fastest OLB in the league!

I really think if we put kap on the block it will drive up the price to a minimum of a 2nd rounder. If 4 or 5 teams get in we might even get a late 1. I think Houston drafts pretty late and they need a QB Houston would have a legit chance if they could find one why would they want to wait 2 or 3 years on a rookie drafted late.Originally posted by Sims19849ers:If we can squeeze a 3rd and conditional 2017 4th out of the Browns for Kap, I would be very impressed. I don't see the market being that great for Kap though. Back in 2013? Absolutely, he was young, promising and dynamic. Over the last two years however, his flaws have really shined bright (a large part of that is the Oline though). I believe the Browns, Rams, Texans and Jets are all QB deprived but the Rams won't trade for him as they know his weaknesses first hand.
The Jets and Texans are certainly options but not with their 1st round pick. The Browns are an option because of Hue having interest in the past but they are in position to grab the top QB in the draft so I think the absolute best we would get for Kap at this point, would be a third with a 4-6 being more realistic and unless the relationship between him and us is unfixable, our best bet would be to keep him for that price as we already have 12 picks this year (unless we can really get a 3rd)
Lynch will be a mid to late 1st round pick (Rams, Jets and maybe Texans with Philly at 13 being the wild card). I have absolutely no reason to believe he is in the top 10 after his less than mediocre end to the season. Connor Cook and Hackenberg will both be available as well if the Texans or Jets think one of them can be the answer.

I see it a little different jets at 20 Houston at 22 both playoff contenders and don't need a great QB. Are they going to draft a rookie and wait 2 or 3 seasons then the rest of the team might suck or take a shot on a youngish QB that's been to the Super Bowl and almost won it at the end. I can see us throwing in our 3rd for there first. I don't see any other QB that's attainable that can take either team to the Super Bowl. We probably end up making a move that none of us like. Even if we just get a 2nd you have to add in the money we get back from Kapernicks contract that we can get a free agent. Like say we get a 2nd or a third and we sign Malik Jackson with the money. We would all take that trade in a heartbeat. Especially if you include the 80 million or so left on his contract. A 2nd rounder and Jackson for Kapernick man that sounds good.Originally posted by Sims19849ers:I don't see the market being that great for Kap though. Back in 2013?
