Now that we have our DC what player do you think he needs for him to run a good defense... I think a corner would be something he would like..he runs a defense depending on a shutdown corner..like haden in Cleveland.. Even tried to get another shutdown corner in Justin Gilbert but that pick didn't work out... Or when he was in the jets with revis and the picks they invested in corner like kyle Wilson...seems like he likes his corners alot...we have one if the best slot corners in Jimmy ward in my opinion... All we need is a shutdown corner and pass rusher I think he will be happy...VH3 anyone??? Kids a beast and he does got shutdown potential.... Ramsy is probably gone by the time we pick

Sec kid... Played the best receivers week in and week out...there is so many ways and players and soooo many different kinds of directions we can go at 7...u can make a point for about 15-20 players for us to take at 7...but I think I'm onto something here with the corners in the first round O'Neal has got and the corners he loves for his defense I think we're going corner boys...either ramsy or VH3...honestly I think VH3 has more of the potential of a shutdown CORNER... (Notice I capitalized the corner)

Sign Sean Smith, Janoris Jenkins or Mo Claiborne (turned it around this season). That's my hope.
Give him another pass rusher. Cleveland tried for years to improve their pass rush, but struck out with Mingo and Krueger. They brought in Shelton and Starks this year, but still had a weak front seven and got ran over.
Cleveland has invested a lot into their secondary, but they still finished near the bottom of the league in rushing and passing defense this season. The year before when they ranked in the top 10 in passing defense, it's because teams opted to run all over them as the worst rushing defense in the league. They gave up over 140 yds/gm on the ground.
Defense is all about the front seven, not the other way around. We spend 3 early picks on DBs over the
last few years and we were among the worst passing defenses in the league. Just like Cleveland, our front seven was dismantled last offseason and we one of the worst running and passing defenses.
Fix the front seven and we fix the defense. We need an OLB, DE, and ILB, in that order. Also, we shouldn't let Ian walk.

Bingo. But we still need an upgrade at CB. DJ IMO will start bc he has been great when starting and chip likes tall CBS. See DJs play against Julio jones and Calvin Johnson. He needs to and will start. We still need 1 more good to great CB and I think it may be Sean smith if free agency bc Baalke tried to get him last time in fa. If not I don't think we draft a CB at 7. Pass rush is far more important if there is no Patrick Peterson type player available in this draft.

ONeil needs Bruce Irvin, he loves to bring pressure. In his scheme Irvin would shine

Irvin an Lynch coming off the edge would be very dangerous. Our corners could really capitalize

not a fan of irvin. I think Harold is a very similar player anyways so why waste the money. We need Noah Spence and i say we grab demarcus ware when he is inevitably cut by the broncos

It's all about that front 7. I was jealous watching Carolina and Denver rush the QB on Sunday.

As much as would love for them to select VH3, I believe Chip will influence them to go with offense in the first.
The Haden/Gilbert/Revis picks were made partially because the HC was a defensive coach.
For the record I'm hoping for VH3 or Ragland in the first.
