7. San Francisco 49ers: QB Carson Wentz, North Dakota State Bison
Overview: With Chip Kelly now as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, many NFL analysts have already projected that Colin Kaepernick would stay as the starting quarterback. While that could be true, I do believe that Chip Kelly would want to invest in his own quarterback of his choosing in the draft. Carson Wentz out of North Dakota State fits that mold perfectly as he could sit behind Kaepernick for as long as he needs to, and then take over as the quarterback of the future. The only question is: Does Carson Wentz fall this far past Cleveland and Dallas?

Myles Jack, LB, UCLA
In this CMD, GM Trent Baalke and new coach Chip Kelly add athleticism and playmaking ability with the value/BPA selection of UCLA's LB Myles Jack. A rare two-way player, having rushed for 267 yds /7 TDs while totalling 76 tackles as a Freshman, the former Bruin displayeduncommon versatility during his college career. A torn MCL suffered in early Fall 2015 ended his college career; however, a full recovery is expected. With Jack, the 49ers get an explosive, every-down athlete who can tackle, run, and cover with the best LBs in the NFL, critical in today's space- and speed-oriented game. Jack's selection recognizes the critical step required to return to the playoffs will be to defend against Arizona's and Seattle's strong offenses. Prior CMD's had the team taking Cal's Jared Goff. Nonetheless, with HC Kelly's hiring it is believed that Kelly aims to build around forgotten QB Colin Kaepernick's skills, which might be the elixir needed to bring the franchise back to the Promised Land.

7. San Francisco - QB Jared Goff, California

7. San Francisco 49ers - Baylor WR Corey Coleman - This pick will test Chip Kelly's and Trent Baalke's roster relationship. Coleman checks in under 6'0", and Kelly has leaned towards size at the position. However, I think Coleman plays bigger than his size and obviously offers speed and yards after catch capabilities. The 49ers' offense needs a jolt, and Coleman would offer it. Especially if the 49ers sign Sam Bradford.

I wouldn't be happy if that was the call at 7.

Not at 7 nooo way. So many better need guys here then Coleman at 7 maybe in the 2nd
At 7 I wouldn't be unhappy if Treadwell was the pick but I also like Miles Jack and Shaq Lawson here too.

PICK 7. Laquon Treadwell - WR, Ole Miss

Chip Kelly finds a superstar in Laquon Treadwell to help out Colin Kaepernick return to his early career form.

7. San Francisco 49ers – DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon: No, Chip Kelly won't be picking the players anymore, but this is a scenario where a former Duck would make sense. Buckner might be even better than the Niners' 2015 first rounder, DE Arik Armstead, his former teammate in Eugene. Buckner's ability to solidly defend the run and pass would make him a welcome addition in a division with so many varied offenses.

7. San Francisco 49ers: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
San Francisco's wide receiver group can't rely on Torrey Smith as a No. 1 option. Treadwell is the draft's top wideout and profiles to be more of a No. 1 than anyone else in this year's draft.

San Francisco 49ers: Jared Goff, QB, California

San Francisco looks to start its rebuilding process with a quarterback to replace Colin Kaepernick. Clearly, Blaine Gabbert isn't the long-term answer. Goff would fit Chip Kelly's approach of a point-guard quarterback to move the ball down the field with quick passing and has some mobility for Kelly's offense.

In 2015, Goff completed 64 percent of his passes for 4,719 yards with 43 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He has a quality, accurate arm with field vision. Goff also has functional mobility to avoid rushers and pick up some yards on the ground. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is lanky and could use more weight. He also could have some issues with getting rattled and handling the rush in the NFL. Holding up against the pass rush led to him having some mechanical issues that he's working on fixing.

Goff enjoyed a breakout 2014 season. The sophomore completed 62 percent of his passes for 3,973 yards with 35 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He displayed real pocket-passing potential while playing with a less-than-ideal supporting cast. Goff became the starter as a freshman in 2013 and completed 60 percent of his passes for 3,508 yards with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Round 1, pick No. 7: Shaq Lawson, OLB, Clemson. Replaces Aldon Smith as the 49ers' weak-side edge rusher and plays defensive end in the subpackages as a rookie. Becomes a full-time starting outside linebacker in Year 2.

I've seen this guy mocked mid 1st to 2nd round

He looks like a 4-3 rotational end to me

San Francisco 49ers: Jared Goff, QB, California

Bold prediction: If the 49ers don't draft a quarterback in the first two rounds, Chip Kelly will start Blaine Gabbert next year, citing how his short-range accuracy makes him a great fit for his offense. This may sound crazy, but Kelly is completely incompetent and doesn't understand NFL concepts.

However, I think there's a good chance Kelly will select Jared Goff if available. New regimes mean new quarterbacks, and while the 49ers don't have a different general manager, they are, in a sense, starting over with Kelly, whose affinity for Pac-12 prospects will once again be prevalent.

Pick change; previously Ronnie Stanley, OT
