NFL likely to allow teams to trade comp picks starting with 2016 Draft

Adam Schefter is reporting the NFL is expected to allow teams to trade compensatory draft picks starting this coming spring. This is likely something that would require a formal vote and approval process, but this would seem to bode well for this happening next spring.

Great news.
Fabulous!
So we'll have all 12 expected picks to navigate with -- great news.

1. First round: Own pick
2. Second round: Own pick
3. Third round: Own pick
4. Fourth round: Own pick
5. Fourth round: Comp pick (Mike Iupati)
6. Fifth round: Own pick
7. Fifth round: San Diego Chargers (2015 draft-day trade)
8. Fifth round: Comp pick (Perrish Cox)
9. Sixth round: Dallas Cowboys (2015 draft-day trade)
10. Sixth round: Denver Broncos (Vernon Davis trade)
11. Sixth round: Comp pick (Dan Skuta)
12. Sixth round: Comp pick (Frank Gore)

Best case scenario for us, and what I so badly hope happens is: Blaine Gabbert lights it up and we're able to trade CK for at LEAST a 4th or better. I don't see much trade bait other than that.
Very good thing for us. We normally gets a few compensatory draft picks and Baalke make great trades.
cooool
That's awesome. Didn't make much sense not allowing teams to trade them.
Out of12 picks we will supposedly have I hope we turn them into 7 players who we want and go up to get..and maybe a couple picks for next year as baalke always does..this offseason is as important of an offseason I can remember..lots of picks and money to work with..we have a chance to get a lot stronger at weak spots..
,hope it happens but til it's official I won't dwell on it.
Maybe now Baalke will do some consolidation trades instead drafting a red shirt year ACL class every draft.

This always made more sense to me than just giving someone a locked pick at the end of the 3rd round when they lose a great player in fa.

Awesome. Got plenty of ammunition to pick players, or package picks. Baalke has to make the most of this draft, it's very critical to the future of this team going forward. Don't have much more margin of error with project players barely contributing. We need more impact players.

He took those two into account. The Michael Crabtree loss was offset by signing Erik Pears, so no comp pick there (sucks, I know).

Either the loss of Iupati or Culliver is cancelled out by the Torrey Smith signing. We only get one comp pick here.

Plus the maximum allowed is 4 picks per team. So we're at the maximum right now.

I didn't know that. Thanks!
