MadDog49er Final Seven Round Projection April 30 2015 and Notes

Well, here we go. Christmas for draft junkies has arrived. Merry Christmas, all!

Below is my final Big 256, which is not intended to be a mock (too many trades), nor a best board (Winston and numerous others are off my board entirely). This is a projection. Before I paste, couple notes:
1. The draft status of Randy Gregory and La'El Collins is somewhere between mid-first round and undrafted. The cryptic reports on Gregory and what is going on upstairs leads one to believe: He is a psychopath, currently stringing cats in trees, or..he is a psychopath. Everybody is dancing around the subject, probably because they don't want to buried by the end of the day by a guy wearing a number 4 jersey. I'll just say he drops to the end of the second, and Belechik picks him up.
As for La'El, something strange is afoot. Why would a guy who broke up months ago with a girl be questioned about her death. I can imagine every team interested in Collins has begun some investigation that would make Watergate and Whitewater look like child's play. I'll say some team grabs him in the second, or seventh.

2. Seems like couple hot potatoes are Peat and Johnson. Could Peat leapfrog Scherff? Could Johnson leapfrog Waynes? There always is some shocker. Expect Ray to slide out of the first, but if pot is the only issue (compared to murder and insanity), some of these guys like Ray might get a bump.

3. I have Collins dropping out of the first and Randall replacing him. I am glad people are finally watching Collins play football. There are blaring red lights everywhere, but it seems like nobody noticed until this week.

4. Rowe, Rowe, Rowe your boat to bigger money- I think he could sneak inside the top 20 picks.

5. I think teams will select Johnson over Waynes. That shuttle time for Waynes was about as fast as a octogenarian crossing the road with a walker.

6. Expect the Browns to screw this up. It is what they do.

7. Expect the Raiders to make a safe pick: It will be Cooper. Write that in granite. Al Davis is currently attempting to climb out of the grave with a scribbled draft card that says. "Breshad Perriman".

8. More later with a final best board and I will be lurking on the draft thread when the action starts in 13 hours. Release the dog!!!

This. (Maybe I'll just keep it on screen in a Window...)

Yes - Merry Christmas!

MD - I see in your final board you have Armstead at #15. Since so many mocks have us taking him there, do you believe that the various red flags that have been tied to him regarding "Dedication" are overblown? I personally don't want him as I don't think his game was that impressive considering his physical size. He needs lotsa work, and with questions about how committed he really is, I have concerns.

Also, you mentioned red flags keeping many off of your board. Could you share those?

I can't ever remember a year where so many of the Top players coming out had issues. It will likely make for a lot of movement and unpredictability.
Ugh I hate keep seeing Armstead anywhere near that 15. Take him off maddog! Do it! Do it! Please
Good stuff MD! Plan to use your board to judge a lot of the draft.

I'm praying we grab your dude Erving...

DRAFT Kevin's Johnson!
Interesting. I fully agree that this is the wrong year to have off the field question marks and that players may drop significantly more than usual because of them. Especially those with things popping up last minute that could scare teams who don't have time to fully research and vet new developments.

But what are you hearing about Gregory and Collins that I have missed? The "psychopath" thing is new to me. Poor decision maker, possible work ethic issue, stuff like that is what I've heard. What reports have you seen that have him reading as bananas?

Similarly, as I understand the Collins thing, he has a rock solid alibi and was nowhere near when any of this went down. He is just someone police want to talk to because he is her ex and may have useful information. Also, I guess there is a possibility he is the father of the child. But so far (from what I understand) he is not a suspect in any way. Is there some speculation/fear that even if the didn't do it himself, he could be involved or have orchestrated it and this could be a Aaron Hernandez situation?

Are you going to give the niners big board and are going to give your opinion of the Niners draft?

Might not be there. He is the best cover corner off the LOS, and I moved him past Waynes in my latest best board which I will post later today. Look out for NO at 13.

Safe player, great player. Won't have to worry about the middle of the offense for a long time.

Not sure. He said earlier today he will not speak to the New Orleans police until the draft is over. This appears messy one way or the other.

As for Gregory, there are numerous reports floating out there that he mental unstable or something else. Nobody is being specific. Here was Albert Greer of NFL Network:

"according to more than a dozen coaches, scouts, personnel chiefs and GMs, there is concern about Gregory's ability to handle the mental rigors of professional football. And just how far he drops in this week's draft will likely hinge on the individual psychological profiles (and the results of related testing) put together by each team, according to multiple veteran evaluators. He has been taken off a several team's draft boards, according to multiple sources"

I read a couple other coded language posts in the last 24 hours. It seems like there are major issues that the media is afraid to fully explain. Simply strange
