DRAFT WEEK HYPE MOCK

Draft is only 3 days away now and I'm pumped. The following is my last effort at a mock.

ROUND 1

DANNY SHELTON - DT - WASHINGTON

It seems like there will be a run on QB's, CB's, WR's and Edge players at the top of the draft and I can see Shelton falling right to us. And Baalke would not be able to get the card in sooner. This guys is the ideal 3-4 nose tackle. If Cowboy returns... can you imagine having this guy paired up with Cowboy and Carradine with Aldon and Lynch coming off the edge... that would be ridiculous.

ROUND 2

Baalke trades back into the very late 2nd, picking up an extra 3rd and 6th round pick.

DONOVAN SMITH - OL - PENN STATE

Not the sexy pick, but the necessary one. We all saw how much the entire offense struggled with a depleted O-line... this guy can play both tackle and guard. Great depth for the line. we have to strengthen the trenches if we want to return to dominance.

ROUND 3

TRE MCBRIDE - WR - WILLIAM & MARY

Great route runner, attacks the ball. I think he would be the perfect compliment to Torrey Smith in the future. This kid is going to be good, no matter what team he goes too. I like him a lot. Would love to get him here in the 3rd. Check out his video.

MARIO EDWARDS JR - DE - FLORIDA STATE

Yet another Seminole to don the red and gold. This guy would be a great, teaming him up with Carradine. Insurance for Cowboy.

ROUND 4

IFO EXPRE-OLOMU - CB - OREGON

While I agree that we are in need of a corner, I don;t think we need one to necessarily come in and start. Now if Marcus Peters is there in the 1st, I could see him coming in and right away lining up opposite of T Brock. This guy is a 1st round CB that's gonna fall because of the knee> He's this year's Baalke's Special.

JAVORIOUS ALLEN - RB - USC

Would be a nice one two punch with Hyde. I think he's underrated and can become one of the better values later in the draft, especially when looking at RB.

ROUND 5

KENNY BELL - WR - NEBRASKA

Speed. If we're looking for more speed, he and Devin Smith are my favorite. There's no better value than grabbing a receiver like him in these later rounds.

ROUND 6

JORDAN HICKS - LB - TEXAS

He's one of my favorite lbs this year outside of Anthony and Dawson. I would love to see this guy bulk up some more and get the Navorro treatment. Have time to develop and slowly incorporate him into the defense.

NICK BOYLE - TE - DELAWARE

Blocking TE. Big. Insurance for Davis and McDonald

ROUND 7

KYSHEON JARRETT - S - VTECH

Dude is going to be a steal. Would be great for the 49ers to pick him up. He's a hard hitter, recovers quick. Instinctive. highly underrated. He is one of my favorite players in the entire draft. And the video is just badass, check it out.

This is another video that further breaks him down as a player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqawVi6-XcQ

JR TAVAI - OLB - USC

Some depth behind Brooks Lemonier. It may be their last season with the team. I like this guy a lot. Doesn't have ideal size or speed but he just gets the job done.

ROUND 8 - PRIORITY FREE AGENTS

1. BRYAN BENNET - QB - SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA

2. JIMMAY MUNDINE - FB/TE - KANSAS

3. DEONTAY GREENBERRY - WR - HOUSTON

4. TYE SMITH - CB - TOWSON

5. JUSTIN MANTON - K - LOUISIANA MONROE

I think Chicago might take Shelton, not sure he slips but if he's there that would be perfect. I like your third round. McBride is one of my draft crushes. edwards is just a man. I would like to see a linebacker taken earlier. We need one man.
Like this mock draft a lot. I think it kicks ass TBH.

If we get Shelton, everything else is just another "drop the mic" draft!

Well they drafted Will Sutton in the 3rd last year, thats pretty high of a pick to replace him right away the following year. Sutton has a lot of potential. I think that if Shelton gets out out of the top 10, then he'll be there at 15... no question.

Yeah and I really do think he's gonna be there. the only way i see him taken earlier is id Cleaveland somehow lose sout on Parker or one of the other 2 receivers and decides to go defense.
Like the draft overall, but I think WR's in rounds 3 and 5 and an UDFA is overkill when we have some young guys who are already competing for a spot. I would feel a lot more comfortable with Shelton falling to 15 if Ray and Gregory didn't have so many issues off the field.
If JT is confident that Shelton can be a 3 down force, then I'd be pumped if he dropped to 15. I like Buck Allen and Hicks a lot. McBride concerns me. He struggles to separate against low-level competition. He dominates them at the catch point, but that doesn't say as much as if he was in a major program playing NFL-caliber DBs. Edwards messes with me, lol. His feet always look so slow, but he always gets to the play. Good player, just looks funny to me.
Good draft. Love the Hicks and Bell picks. Kenny Bell is one of the most underrated players in this draft imo. I feel like OLB should be a bigger priority than multiple receivers and not crazy about McBride. Go OLB in round 3 and I'm down.
