PTulini and NC49ersFan82's 49ers' Mock Draft

1st round - The San Francisco 49ers trade back in the draft with the Philadelphia Eagles who are looking to grab WR DeVante Parker. The San Francisco 49ers will obtain the Eagles 1st round pick (20th overall) and 3rd round pick (84th overall) and select Marcus Peters CB, Washington.

Some say Peters is the best CB rated in the NFL draft class but character issues in a late game tirade forced him to be removed from the team. Peters allowed just 38.1 percent of the passes against him to be completed and had 24 passes defensed and 8 interceptions. He contains Fluidity in his hips to flip and run. Competes hard out of press-man coverage and tries to intimidate receivers with his physicality. Can redirect talented receivers with his length and flat-out stuff receivers with marginal foot quickness and strength. Stays in pocket of vertical receivers while turning to locate and track ball. Active and disruptive when ball is in the air. At his best when contesting catches and often comes away the winner on 50/50 throws. Outstanding feel for space with ability to track multiple receivers and quarterback at the same time. Closes on throws with above-average burst and brings some force on contact.

Round 2 - With the 46th overall pick the San Francisco 49ers select ILB Denzel Perryman from the University of Miami. With the 49ers losing both Patrick Willis and Chris Borland they will need to fill this void early. Burly, stout, old-school linebacker build. Wants to hit and brings his pads with him when he delivers a blow. Delivers a jarring punch into oncoming offensive linemen on second level. Defends his area of turf and sees past blockers, keeping his eye trained on the play. Is able to disengage and shed blockers. Plays low and with leverage. Once he diagnoses, can trigger into gaps and disrupt. Early down linebacker who can make plays against the run but will struggle if isolated in coverage. Perryman is a lunch-pail worker who enjoys the physical part of the game.

Round 3 - With the 79th overall in the 3rd round the San Francisco 49ers select Donovan Smith OT/OG from Penn State. Will likely move to guard but it does help he is versatile in the trenches. Plays with good functional strength. Plus leg strength and can drive defender off the spot. Uses adequate footwork in run game to go with powerful base. Has desired pad level and bend in pass protection and his initial sets are above average. Plays with good pace on play-side zone plays, which bodes well if he kicks inside.

Round 3 - From trading with the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round and grabbing their 84th overall pick the San Francisco 49ers select Stefon Diggs, WR Maryland. Fluid, flexible athlete. Five-star recruit who stayed home to help build local program. Instinctive route runner. Does an outstanding job of sinking his hips and exploding out of breaks to create immediate separation. Natural ball-plucker. Excellent body control to adjust to throws, whether they're low, high or behind him. Can make contested catches.

Dynamic and dangerous with the ball in his hands. Sudden once he's in space, using head fakes and impressive lateral change of direction to make multiple defenders miss. Instant acceleration is his differentiator from the slot. Can be an extremely effective weapon from the slot as a pro, turning short third-down throws into first downs. Diggs can make things happen when he has the ball in his hands and could become a consistent, productive weapon for the right offensive coordinator.

Round 4 - The San Francisco 49ers have made a trade to the Tennessee Titans to trade back and grab their 5th (138th overall) and an extra 6th round pick in 2016 by trading their 126th (4th round pick) in the draft. With their 2nd 4th round pick (132nd overall) the San Francisco 49ers select RB Mike Davis, University of South Carolina. Compact frame with plus balance as a runner. Keeps feet moving in traffic and can pinball from defender to defender. Uses spin move effectively to avoid the hit and keep running. Will duck head and accelerate behind his pads with force to finish his runs. Downhill runner near the end zone with adequate push to grind out the extra half yard needed. Creates separation to the perimeter with quality stiff arm and showed surprising top-end speed to hit the long run in 2013. Gets adequate separation out of backfield and can convert the catch into a first down.

Capable in pass protection with understanding of protections. Davis has a surprising ability to turn on the jets and get on top of the secondary quickly for long runs, and his north-south mentality is a fit for the pros. With an ability to play on third down as well, the only thing holding Davis back is conditioning. Davis won't make too many defenders miss, so he can't afford to lose the corner speed he showed in 2013. Davis can be a very capable NFL backup with the potential to become a starter.

Round 5 - With the 138th overall pick of the 5th round the 49ers select DE/OLB Frank Clark, University of Michigan. The issue with Clark is that he was dismissed from the program last season due to domestic violence chargers. Downhill defensive end who can play on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Has the power to control the edge and is able to disengage and finish as a tackler. Fires out of stance with good burst upfield as pass rusher.

Keeps pad level low and converts speed to power. Gets shoulders turned when he rounds corner as pass rusher, gaining leverage advantage. He's likely a strong-side 3-4 OLB, but has the ability to play end in a 4-3 as well. Some league insiders believe he could come off the board inside the top 100 picks.

Round 5 - With the 151st pick in the 5th round the San Francisco 49ers select TE Blake Bell, University of Oklahoma. Bell will be a converted QB to TE entering the league. He put up top numbers in the combine among the TE's participating. Looks good on the hoof with a frame suited to add just a little more weight. Former quarterback with a feel for space when running routes against zone. Confident pass-catcher with ability to run through safeties and maximize each catch. Plays with competitive spirit and very coachable. Improved by leaps and bounds as a blocking tight end. Keeps hands inside and plays with wide base and ability to sustain in pass protection. Had reps in which he held his own against Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman.

Round 6 - With the 190th pick of the 6th round in the NFL Draft the San Francisco 49ers select WR Deandre Smelter, Georgia Tech. Smelter is a raw but very exciting specimen that played in GT's Triple Option offense. Big receiver with physicality to match. On hitch routes, showed shake to make first defender miss and also showed he can punish defenders with a stiff-arm.

Talented after the catch. His football intelligence really stands out. Has understanding of leverage within his routes and will adjust his route to counter the defender's actions. Able to create separation underneath by pushing cornerbacks with good route speed. Consistently worked back to quarterback when plays got off schedule. Uses wide frame to box out cornerbacks on back-shoulder throws near the boundary. Wins when ball is in the air with physicality, body control, well-timed leaps and strong hands. Capable run blocker. He plays well beyond his experience level at wide receiver. His toughness, natural instincts and football intelligence should earn him a spot on a depth chart, provided there are no lasting effects from his ACL tear.

Round 7 - With the 246th pick in the 7th round the San Francisco 49ers select QB Brandon Bridge, Southern Alabama. Tall, thin frame with room for more thickness. Three-quarter thrower with elite arm strength and instant release. Has enough arm to make off-balance intermediate and deep throws that few (if any) in this draft can make. Can drop deep ball into a bucket with accuracy and had a completion of 42 yards or more in eight of his 11 games in 2014. Showed some ability to work through progressions and uses his eyes to freeze the safety before taking vertical shots down the sideline. Able to make big plays with his feet. Had runs of 65 and 54 yards in 2014. Isn't just a pull-and-go runner from pocket. Will buy himself time and continue to scan the field for open targets.

Round 7 - With the 254th pick of the 7th round the San Francisco 49ers select FS Chris Hacket from TCU. Steps downhill to support run, breaking down in space and playing under control. While he's not a big hitter, he will do whatever is needed to make the tackle. Smart and instinctive. Shows a great feel for what offenses are doing immediately after the snap. Started for three years for well-coached defensive unit. Found the ball and made plays with 12 interceptions in three years, including seven in 2014.

Nice mock
So pumped after doing this. We went back and forth between players and came upon agreement with each pick. Can not wait for the real thing!
Nice mock. The one issue I had was the trade back from the 4th round to the 5th round getting a 2016 6th rounder. Picks a year later are generally valued 1 round less so it is the same as a 7th rounder this year. That move should have gotten us and extra 6th rounder this season or a 5th rounder in 2016.
I don't think Baalke goes small with the first pick when there's prime grade A beef available.
Sorry but just not loving it. Peters and Perriman are ok where you have them. The main issue is rounds 3-5. Really hate the Smith and Diggs picks in the 3rd. They are day 3 prospects to me, so to me the value is not there. Davis in the 4th is again just ok, not great value imo. Clark is an interesting pick where you have him, but Bell is probably a reach and a project at TE. Smelter is a nice prospect, but will probably long gone by the 6th round. I'd be ok with this draft, but wouldn't be excited about it.

Love the first two picks.
So many good RBs available. Don't prefer the one you guys chose, hope Baalke lands one of the higher rated guys in rounds 3-4
One question........why would the Niners trade down if Devante Parker was still on the board at 15?
I like this mock the most, but ultimately would still like to see the Niners come out of this draft with an additional 1st round pick for next year. I'm still of the belief that there are only 10-15 super players in this draft that teams are targeting. Teams will want to trade up for their target. That 15th pick has huge value this year!! We can trade it away and still get a guy like Green-Beckham in the second round. We can still address depth and need through rounds 2-4. We would be primed for next year and ready to draft three starters in rounds 1 and 2 next year. It's a no brainer guys.

Like the mock BUT agree w/m_brockalexander.
This is awesome. I would be really pleased if this happened. First two picks are especially great.
Sorry if Parker is on the board they will not be trading down.

IF this is true why in the world would a team give up a future 1st if there aren't any great prospects?? Baalke needs to nail this draft and a future 1st isn't gonna cut it.
