The #49ers received two compensatory picks: a 4th rounder and a seventh rounder. Now have 9 draft picks.
thx for the info. Was waiting all day long for these news.

Nice to have an additional 4th-rounder in particular. Though, the 7th-rounder is almost as good as well because we could secure some borderline-draftable guys who would be on the free market otherwise.

No worries Lot's of value to be had at the end of the 4th in this draft. I wouldn't mind picking up a guy like Bryan Bennett or Cody Fajardo to develop as a backup QB with the extra 7th.
Who did we lose to get a 4th round pick for

Well, at least Ray Mac worked out (until now) I'm hoping Thomas works out as well

For those asking with an eye to 2016: The NFL's super-secret compensatory pick formula doesn't factor in early retirement. #49ers

So it looks like we're getting a 4th and 7th round picks as comp for FA losses last off season. I'm kind of hoping that someone slides due to injury, and we can do a draft and stash with our 4th round comp, and hopefully with the 7th we can draft a replacement for Dawson. Hopefully we sign one or two FA LB's soon, so we don't HAVE TO draft a LB with our early round picks. Like if we signed Briggs and Henderson, we could ignore MLB if we had to in the draft for another year or so.

Have no idea why people thought otherwise.
Enough of the ACL strategy. 49ers need plug and play players. Learn on the fly and contribute.
