NYniner85 mock 3.0 (last mock before draft)

Well a lot changed since my last mock good and bad...I won't talk about signings, players leaving/retiring, and cuts. FA is slowing down and we all have an idea who's gonna be on the team before the draft.

Once again I used CBS sports big board http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings and player profiles from CBS,,NFL.com, and Rotoworld.

1st: DeVante Parker WR 6-3 210 lbs

Yes half of you will hate this and have we love it , BPA is Baalke's MO and with the Vikings,Browns,Dolphins all stacking up on WRs in FA he would be hard to pass up. I think he would make for a great compliment to our current WR corp and his 80 inch wingspan would be a nice addition in the red-zone...how about some TDs instead of FGs??

People talk about his lack on separation, but he avg 20 yards a catch this year and uses his length/size to beat CBs (only credited for 3 drops since 2012 as well)....he reminds me to players like Jeffery,Colston and Green

Excellent height/length body type with the frame to get stronger. Long-striding speed with natural lower body explosion to get vertical in a hurry. Shows multiple gears in his routes to set up defenders. Quick-starter with the initial movements off the line of scrimmage to gain free release and stack corners, using field leverage to give him room to work down the sideline. Disguises routes well with a strong plant foot, selling his patterns with crisp footwork. Shows some shake in the open field with quick cuts to deceive after the catch and the vision to collect YAC. Tracks the football and extends well to attack with a large wingspan and natural body control (Cbs sports)

*Trade- I see a lot of movement in the 2nd round and if players like Evring, Fisher, and Humphries are there we could trade down. We trade with Carolina they get their OL we get an extra 3rd.

2nd (57th)-BPA once again is Bryon Jones CB 6-1 199lbs

Yes I'm going against the Baalke finds value for CB, but I'm on the bandwagon and he is BPA. He is smart, a team captain, and is a leader...we are gonna need some of those after this off-season.

Extremely smart and instinctive on the field. Shows above-average anticipation of routes. Is able to sniff out rub routes and works to avoid them. Flashes recovery speed downfield and gets head around to find ball and make a play on it. Uses instincts and adequate closing burst to disrupt the catch. Generally reliable tackler. Team captain and leader on the field and in the locker room. Scouts say he's willing to play hurt and inspires his teammates( NFL.com)

3rd (79th) Mario Edwards Jr DE/DT 6-3 280 Lb

He has long-arms and is very versatile, he is still a project and conditioning and desire need to be worked on, we have a great DL or I mean HC to do that

Scheme versatile. Can play base end or defensive tackle in a 4-3 (depending on weight) or as a 3-4 defensive end. Has thick bubble and legs. Comes off snap with decent power. Can brace and anchor at point of attack. Flashes upper-body strength to press and lock out tackles. Above-average closing burst as tackle. Strength to leverage and toss blockers when motivated.

3rd (89th)- Denzel Perryman- ILB 5-11 236

I'm torn between Him and Dawson at ILB, but Denzel seems like a Webzone favorite lol, plus he will be here in the 3rd. He will continue the tradition of tough 49er LBs. He might be a liability in coverage, but if Bowman returns to full health we will be fine.

Burly, stout, old-school linebacker build. Wants to hit and brings his pads with him when he delivers a blow. Delivers a jarring punch into oncoming offensive linemen on second level. Defends his area of turf and sees past blockers, keeping his eye trained on the play. Is able to disengage and shed blockers. Plays low and with leverage. Once he diagnoses, can trigger into gaps and disrupt. Expected to be productive special-teams player at the next level.

4th (123) Jeremy Langford Rb 6-0 210 lbs

He ran one of the fastest 40s at the combine and played WR and CB at one point at Michigan St. I like watching him run, he follows his blockers and goes north-south..one cut and gone. He did look to go to the outside rather than hit the holes at some pt and he will have trouble with that in the pros. I think he would be a solid backup and if Hyde gets hurt will fill in nicely with Bush/Hunter.

Has burst around the corner and can separate from linebackers in pursuit. Finished his 2014 campaign with 22 carries of 15-plus yards, placing him fifth in running-back heavy Big Ten. Effective with chip blocks and will square up blitzers and take them on in pass protection. Has blocking and pass-catching talent to play on third downs. Good spin move and plus lateral foot quickness. Maintains balance through contact. Showed special-teams potential as a sophomore. (NFL.com)

4th(comp)- Mitch Morse OT 6-5 305 lb

I had him in this spot last mock and I'm good with him here again. Dude is strong as a ox and has played center,RT,and OG like the versatility

Morse shows good patience, allowing the defender to get near him before showing a quick, powerful punch to latch and control opponents. He plays with his knees bent, helping him to absorb bull rushes and plays on his toes, allowing him to slide laterally to mirror. Morse is attentive and can handle switching off on twists and unexpected blitzes. As a run blocker, Morse is at his best turning and sealing defenders with his initial quickness or simply driving them off the ball with power (CBS sports)

5th (143rd)- Derrick Lott DT 6-4 315 Lbs

He has a big frame with long-arms, he dominated against lesser competition and is older which might make him slip.

Georgia transfer who is technically savvy. Has a good feel and instincts for where linemen are headed and where blocks are coming from. Excels with his hands. Gets into opponents quickly with a strong jolt and plays with necessary power and technique to unhinge and discard blockers. Finishes as a tackler and has an adequate tackle radius. Well-schooled pass rusher bringing several moves and counters to the party.(NFL.com)

6th- Corey Robinson OL 6-7 324 Lbs

Dude is a house and has really long arms. He is projected as a 6th or 7th round pick on CBS? so I grabbing him based on size and his 35 starts for the Game Cocks. I'm assuming he's injured. If someone knows more about him please fill me in...at this point in the draft it's all potential.

Robinson is surprisingly coordinated given his massive frame. He extends his left leg deep behind him to help protect the edge, making him more effective against speed rushers than he might appear "on the hoof." Robinson has long arms and good upper body strength to latch onto opponents and settles nicely, showing good lateral agility to mirror. He shows good quickness when releasing to block at the second level, as well as the coordination to adjust to moving targets (CBS)

7th- Zack Wagenmann OLB 6-3 247 LBs

I have a ton of family that are Grizzly Alumni and they love this kid! Pass rush specialist and had a pretty good combine. Yes his arms aren't 20 feet long (33 1/2) but he comes off the edge well and had 37 sacks in 3 years. (might be gone at this point)

Passionate pass rusher whose energy seems to ramp up on passing downs. At his best as a pass rusher when lined up as a wide nine-technique. Consistent production as three-year starter with 37 sacks and 52 tackles for loss. Hands need more skill, but they are efficient in pass rush. Has noticeable closing burst to quarterback and running back when he has them in his cross-hairs. Plays with awareness and eyes focused on the traffic in backfield. Recognizes screen passes to his side and snuffs them out. At the NFL Scouting Combine, he had the fourth-best vertical leap of all defensive ends at 37 1/2 inches. (NFL.com)

7th comp-Bobby McCain CB 5-9 195

Quick-twitch athlete. Can sky to disrupt at the high point. Pivots, flips hips and accelerates from a standstill. Plus burst to ball. Outstanding instincts and anticipation in off-man and zone coverage. Can click and close to limit yards after catch or make plays on the ball. Plays with soft hands and grabbed 11 interceptions over last two seasons. Makes plays outside of his area. Feisty. Desires to help in run support and doesn't hold back. Fights through average blockers and gets to his target. Wrap-up tackler. Bright eyes on field. Digests combo routes and plays. Played outside and over slot. Was a capable kick returner

So in all I went defense heavy and saw that the real value is in the 2nd-3rd rounds. I think this would be a well-rounded draft and gives us solid starters, tons of competition, and I added some future leaders.

Addresses a lot of needs with good players. I like it.
I'm normally against drafting skill positions when I feel so iffy with the trenches. However, you made good selections for the trenches that I believe will be able to compete in addition to getting high potential skill players. I like the idea of Parker paired with Torrey Smith and Patton/Ellington subbing in for our receiving core. I also like the idea of DJ and Byron Jones blooming into formiddable lengthy big outside corners at the next level with Brock/Reaser/Acker holding down the slot. Perryman will have big shoes to fill, but will pair well with Bowman if he fully recovers. Langford will offer a nice security blanket if our RB'S suffer the injury bug (since nearly all of them have been injured in the past two years). Edwards has a lot of potential if he gets motivated, Tomsula is the one I would trust most to make this happen. Overall I'd give it an A.

Thanks I see a ton of value in the late 2nd and 3rd rounds and if we trade down I hope it's to get picks around there.

I'd love to see Jones and DJ on the outside

Really like all your players, especially Byron Jones, Edwards, Perryman, Langford and Wagenmann. Just don't think Parker is there at #15. If he's not, trade down later in the 1st makes sense, Baalke could choose a WR from Strong, DGB or Perriman. Byron Jones and Denzyl Perryman would be positive steps in replacing the leadership roles recently lost, both were team captains and locker room leaders.

Thanks! I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he did fall. Teams like the Jets, Vikings, Browns, and Dolphins have all added WRs through FA and have a ton of needs elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if a team moves ahead of us to grab him though. If he isn't there then I would love a trade down....
Love Wagenmann but I truly believe he will go in the 6th. He is rising.

Yes I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the 6th, but at that point in the draft it's a little unclear. I do know based on on the free agent's we have lost we will be getting a ton of comp pick and I wouldn't be surprised if Baalke trades away a couple of next years picks (in lower rounds) to move up in this draft, knowing we will have comp picks available.
not sure why we have 2 third round picks...
Not to burst your bubble, but I don't see Baalke taking any WR in rd 1. Even though we haven't heard officially that Justin Smith's retiring, Baalke has to plan for him being gone. That's why I believe he'll go big DL. Goldman, Malcolm Brown...either would be very good picks. I love Parker, but I just don't see TB going WR that early.

I'm not sure Byron Jones would be his 2nd rd CB pick...possibly so, but for some reason, that player doesn't resonate with me. I could see Marcus Peters, PJ Williams or Quenton Rollins.

Mario Edwards is a good pick...but Perryman's not what we need at ILB...Stephone Anthony is. Rationale is Anthony's got great size, speed and does more things well than his competitors. He already covers receivers well...just believe he's better suited for a 3-4 defense.

I like that you went heavy w/DL and OL...but Langford's not a thumper. Adding him to Hyde, Hunter and Bush would mean Carlos would be the only real between the tackles RB. I'd think a bigger RB would create more balance and could help wear defenses down better.

Love the Weganmann pick late...dude reminds me of Skuta, a blue-collar type of player.

would be homerun draft if perryman will last to that spot

I had us trade down in the 2nd with Carolina there should be a couple good lineman at 45 and they might be interested if they didn't go OL in the 1st. It's almost even value for their 3rd.

Why wouldn't he? They were looking at Harvin( after signing Smith) and lost SJ, plus Boldin is in his last year...he reportedly met with them them as well.

Borland was the same size as Perryman and would take over the TED role, I don't see the need in drafting a ILB in the 2nd....who would be a "real thumper" in the 4th at RB? He ran for over 3,000 yards in the past two seasons and is a 3 down back.

Thanks for the imput I would be a happy man if the draft went this way...
Love it
I can dig it. Im more of a fan of McKinney or Anthony than perryman but i wont mind him too much.
