Durell Eskridge - S - Syracuse

The Orangeman is a 6'3" 208 pound safety. Probably one of our better options to cover Jimmy Graham. Likely to be had on day 2 or 3 in the draft. Could potentially be a poor mans Kam Chancellor. Thoughts?

We're better off sticking Reid or Bowman on him than a rookie 4th round pick.

Eric Reid: 6'1 213 with 33 5/8" arms and a 40.5" vertical (and way more overall athleticism and better coverage skills)
Durell Eskridge: 6'3 208 with 32 3/8" arms and a 31" vertical (the smallest of any DB)
Bud Dupree: 6'4 269 with 32 5/8" arms and a 42" vertical

I think Jaquiski Tartt is a little more like a poor man's Chancellor than this guy. This guy is a tall safety, but no one would confuse him with a linebacker and he doesn't have close to Chancellor's athleticism.

Bud Dupree vs. Jimmy Graham would be interesting. Very few guys outweigh Graham and can run with him, but Dupree needs work in coverage. He's one of the players I'd be fine with drafting at 15. His only weakness is his length, but if he had long arms, he'd be a top 5 pick because his combine numbers are more impressive than Clowney's.
