Steelers back da fuq up!!!

My problem with Dupree is he is a prototypical workout warrior. Absolutely phenomenal, off the charts measurables, but it doesn't entirely translate on the field. Coaching will be paramount to his success. His natural gifts right now will be negated by NFL caliber talent if he does not correct his flaws (bad pursuit angles, severe struggles to disengage when locked up by inferior talent, and seriously needs to work on his hand battling). He will be more of a project than people think for a first round guy. But his potential is so far through the roof, NFL coaches won't be able to pass on the potential.

Durpree's alligator arms (32 5/8") might be a problem for Baalke. On the other hand, a guy like Danielle Hunter is as much a freak as Dupree, is slightly taller and has 34+" arms. Hunter wasn't as productive in the sack department as Dupree (though Hunter did have more TFLs), but has just as much athleticism and upside to develop into a Lynch-type of 3-4 OLB. Bud is clearly the better prospect, but I think Hunter is better value in the 2nd/3rd round.

I agree. I think Dupree is a 4-3 OLB with 2nd round talent. I think he's a liability in the run game and will be ineffective as a pass rusher in the pros. As soon as you get your hands on Dupree, he out of the play. He severely lacks the ability to shed blocks. He needs to play in space.

I like Hunter's upside as a 3-4 OLB, but he's really raw. He's so athletic and long, but he too often just looks lost out there. He might be a couple years away from being ready to see significant playing time.

Of course, add Clive Walford, TE, to the list now.

I've been thinking about who the 49ers are going to target at RB (I fully expect them to draft another one). Right now -- based on what I think we might be looking for at the position -- in no particular order, I'd say the top 5 targets for the 49ers at RB would be:

1. Duke Johnson
2. Jeremy Langford
3. Tevin Coleman
4. Javorius Allen
5. Ameer Abdullah

I feel like Ameer, followed by Duke, would be a nightmare in a zone blocking scheme. Ameer is so good at moving laterally then exploding through a cutback lane. The Ravens, Broncos and Texans would be nice suitors for him.
LB Benardrick McKinney will be visiting the 49ers.

This dude is a beast. I would not mind him next to Bow, but even if they do not get him, I would be happy with them moving Brooks inside.

Brooks is pretty big to be a ILB...

Don't understand why some fans are calling for Brooks to play inside. There's a reason they moved him outside and it's because his quickness and instincts aren't necessarily suitable for the ILB position in a 3-4.

100% agree and would much prefer Hunter over Dupree later on for better value due to the upside and the confidence I have in our coaches to get a lot out of him.

That would be a nice value pickup in the middle rounds. More speed and quickness.

Prospects associated with the 49ers:
» Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State: 49ers interview Ajayi following pro day
» Cameron Clear, TE, Texas A&M: Clear visits with 49ers at pro day
» Ricky Collins, WR, Texas A&M-Commerce: Division II WR who had 14 TD catches in 2014 visiting 49ers
» Quandre Diggs, OLB, Texas: Diggs spotted with 49ers at Senior Bowl
» Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland: Big-play receiver will visit 49ers in April
» Kurtis Drummond, FS, Michigan State: Drummond spotted with 49ers at Senior Bowl
» Bud Dupree, OLB, Kentucky: 49ers among teams Dupree has spoken with
» Jeremy Langford, RB, Michigan State: Langford spotted with 49ers at Senior Bowl
» DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville: Parker has meeting with 49ers
» Denzel Perryman, LB, Miami: Portis: Perryman can fill Patrick Willis' void

Just in case the OP didn't have these.

Tray Walker CB 6-3 189 has visit scheduled with SF

Texas Southern CB Tray Walker has visits with eight teams scheduled, according to Tony Pauline.
This means the media, including this site, is behind on Walker. Those eight teams include the Arizona Cardinals, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. Walker is a physical specimen, measuring in at 6'2 3/4" and 189 lbs, recording a 36.5-inch vertical jump and 10-7 broad jump. Walker ran in the mid-4.4s and posted a 4.05 short shuttle and a sub-6.7 3-cone. Teams love length at corner, and Walker fits the bill. Mar 27 - 10:18 AM

Ricky Collins WR 6-0 200lbs has visit scheduled with SF

Texas A&M Commerce WR Ricky Collins will visit the 49ers, according to Matt Barrows.
Barrows adds Collins has a visit with the Browns scheduled as well. Both Collins and receiver teammate Vernon Johnson have received plenty of attention from NFL teams, and each lit up the division II level. Collins recorded 71 catches for 1,187 yards and 14 touchdowns last year

One of the small-schoolers I'm most interested in is WR Tyrell Williams of Western Oregon. Fast on film, fast on timed speed as well with terrific quickness in drills as well. Would be more than willing to use a flier on him in the 7th.
