Mariota being more poised than Winston is a joke. Jamies brought Florida State back from some decent sized holes in several games, and he never looks like the moment is too big for him. Even in the playoffs the loss they had was mainly due to him being surrounded by young players who couldn't handle the pressure. Even when Jameis made plays they found a way to screw things up.
I based that on my own opinion of Winston plays when facing pressure.
But in case you think I'm the only one, google tooke me 10 seconds to find this:
"His pocket movement and repositioning of his footwork when facing pressure to maintain placement and velocity along with his release point when set (his passes tend to fade right, slightly, thanks to the way the ball leaves his hand) are also minor areas he needs to improve on before they become attacked at the NFL level by opposing defenses. Watch Winston and how reacts to the blitz, he comes a turnover waiting to happen. I've seen him just chuck the ball up numerous times on bad reads when facing pressure, and he gets away with it because his talent is so much higher than his opponents. In the NFL that play style will be a disaster.
His mechanics just go to crap when facing pressure, and he is so determined to make a play he makes reckless decisions.
edit: And your post indicates you think Mariota doesn't have as much poise as Winston by saying Winston always looked like he belonged in big games. When did Mariota fail to look like he belonged?
