Amazing.
I heard one comment from an Analyst on ESPN (forget which one) that summed it up quite well.
Cardale should realize this. If he stays at Ohio State, he's not guaranteed of being the starter as he was behind 2 others who got injured.
He can't beat out 2 College guys, who may or may not make it to the NFL, yet he's going to declare for the Draft to try to beat out others who did make it to the NFL?
Dude has JaMarcus written all over him.

Link? Not showing up for me and you're the only one to say he's declared.

He has not declared. There are plenty of articles opining that he should declare, but none that he actually has.
Apparently LeBron James had a conversation with Cardale about coming out early. When asked about it, he said something like, it's a private conversation, but if you knew what I said to him you wouldn't like it.

See that's all I've seen, is he'd talked to LeBron. Hadn't heard a peep about him officially declaring though.

Apologies, I misread it. But, he did say he wasn't sure he would return to Ohio State. Oh well, we should find out soon enough, the deadline is Thursday right ?

If he does decide to turn pro, he's not being drafted for his ability to come in and be a starter next season. He will be drafted purely based on potential and would be almost like a future first round pick (with one less year) in exchange for a 2nd or 3rd round pick this year. I personally agree with Kiper and think he'll go in the 2nd round as I posted earlier, but I could see him falling to the 3rd because the window for him to be a starter on his rookie contract is not very big if he comes out this year (he's at least one season away from being a starter in the NFL).
Whether or not he can beat out Braxton Miller and JT Barrett has very little to do with his long term potential which is what will get him drafted. He's a much better NFL prospect than Braxton Miller or JT Barrett and probably would beat them out next season if he continues to develop, but it's a risk since both are very good college QB's.

He'd be a fullback right now.
If he comes out right now, it'd be a disaster, the guy is beyond raw.
"He has to go back,'' said Phil Savage, executive director of the Senior Bowl. Savage is also the former general manager of the Cleveland Browns and director of player personnel for the Baltimore Ravens. "Jones would be a midround developmental candidate at best.''

Wide range of opinions on Cardale Jones? One GM told me he could be 3rd QB taken. A college director said he looks like a TE who throws.
