Maiocco: Niners aren't very high on the CB's. Target is a WR on a trade up.

Cooks/Beckham and Verrett. That would make Thursday very successful.

I'm starting to think this, Cooks, if the Niners trade up and go WR in the 1st. Second and only other WR for 1st Rd. trade up I'd consider is for Beckham (other top WRs would be too costly). If the Niners go CB and trade up, I'd be o.k. w/ either Dennard, Gilbert, Fuller, or Verrett (may not need to trade up to get Verrett, though).

Verrett is my personal favorite and I wouldn't mind a small trade up for him. But outside him, i agree.
Gilbert and Dennard aren't worth the fortune it will be to nab one of them.
If Fuller was available @ 30, I'd be all over it but that's not happening. Don't see him getting past the Eagles and I don't think he's worth trading up for.
This report is no surprise. Baalke has a pretty good eye for DBs even in the mid and later rounds and he probably feels he can find value and quality later. (Although I do think we'll select at least 1 CB before day 3).

I would be happy to see them trade up for Dennard, unless they don't think he'd fit their system. Beyond that, I agree. I don't see Gilbert or Fuller as worth trading up for at all.
It would be funny if we did trade up for Dennard now. Check out this video of Mayock's interview with him it makes me want him on this team even more.

I'd rather go after Evans if we trade up, if not him then Beckham.

It really comes down to if Baalke perceives much of a drop off after Dennard, Gilbert, and Fuller (and maybe Verrett) are gone. Those four CBs could all be off the board by the time the Niners pick. But if the perception is the next few available CBs (assuming they don't go WR) aren't much of a drop off, of course they'd not trade up for a CB in that scenario.

It would be the Central Valley connection ( Kap from Turlock and Cooks from Stockton). For those who don't live in the valley the two towns are only about 45 miles apart.

I hadn't seen this until now - thanks for the link. He seems like, in addition to be a talented CB, he also has his head on straight. This also makes me want him in the Niners' secondary more than before.

Desir has a really good story too.

Cooks is the only WR i would move up slightly for. I love cooks personally and have for a long time, but i wouldnt over pay for him.
I think Desir is the target at CB, or possibly Roby, so it makes sense to target a guy like cooks in the first.
As long as we keep both second round pics i would be ok with a trade up, but honestly i hope we stay put or trade back into the second.
If we were able to trade up for cooks and keep our second round pics, a Cooks/ Adams combo at WR and Desir or Roby at CB would be a solid take away from the first two rounds.
Still think CB is the biggest need on the roster though.

With our front 7... and with our inability to score at the end of championship games, I'd say our biggest roster need is a playmaking WR. Who Baalke thinks that is, I'm not sure. I'd go get Evans or stay and double dip on Latimer and Matthews

Personally I would rather draft Tuitt,
I think he is going to help our secondary more than any Rook CB will
