Not bad..personally I'm not a huge fan of Roby but if he takes to coaching he can be a very good player.

I'm still not sold on Latimer going that high and personally I'd stay put in the 2nd round and wait for one of the big body receivers to fall. Only one I'd move up for is Moncrief or Allen Robinson(I feel like he's becoming the forgotten man around here and in most mock drafts)

However you took my boy Bruce Ellington who I think would be perfect for us so you're good in my book ;)

Latimer has been getting 1st round buzz lately. Now that doesn't mean he will go in the 1st but selecting him in the 2nd is probably not a reach at this point.

The rest is so excellent, I can look past my disappointment with the Roby selection in rd 1. I just don't like what I see from him.. but I'd keep an open mind and be optimistic.
awesome draft. cody latimer with 2nd pick? Love it.
it seems that this mock is boom or bust. A lot of your early round players are super raw but a lot of talent. I cant see a lot of them contributing much in 2014
I don't like Roby that much. He's athletic But gets burned too much. He takes plays off and has bad technique.

I don't get why Desir or SJB are not on your CB list.

I like the other picks tho.
Fuller looks to be a more consistent CB...excellent all-around game and has good speed. Like just about every VA Tech grad, he also has excellent ST value.

Latimer grades out to rd 3-4 at both NFL.com draft profile and Walter Football's draft prospect rankings. His 1st love's basketball, not football. Better choice IMHO is Matthews, who'd have the game to replace Crabtree based on his size, speed, route-running, work ethic and consistent productivity. Makes no sense to trade up to get Latimer, IMHO. Not with Matthews, Moncrief, Adams, et al available.

Colvin projects 4-5 rd pick based on his injury, size and playing style. He won't survive in the NFL playing like he did at 177 lbs with reckless abandon. Here's where I'd take Desir.

Love the Ellington pick...too many want Archer, who's Gumby compared to Ellington & Herron.

Desir is one of the players I really struggled to not put on that list. I liked his tape but I think overall he is very raw. He needs a lot of work with his technique, for the most part is non-existent versus the run and rarely played press cover. I think his best fit may be in a zone cover scheme. He also will be a 24 year old rookie.
With that said, if Baalke thinks that Desir is a good fit in our defense I would be more than happy if he picks Desir. He is a hard worker, has a strong character, and displays outstanding instincts while in zone coverage.

As for Baptiste. I´m not a fan at all. To me he has huge bust potential. He rarely plays to his size, very average at best as a run defender and cannot defend a deep pass if his life depends on it ( 77.78 percent burn rate on passes over 20 yards ). He also will be 24 as a rookie.

Colvin is way too high for a guy that is going on the IR for a whole season, he was a 2nd-3rd round if healthy.

Thanks for the input.

I´m a huge fan of Fuller but I dont think he is a good fit in our defense. To me his biggest flaw is his inability to play press. He was rarely asked to do it but struggled mighty when trying to.
I feel the same about Fuller as I feel about Desir. If Baalke thinks they fit our defense I would be very happy if they play for us next season.

Yes in a perfect world we would be able to pick Latimer in the 3rd but I highly doubt that he will make it past the 2nd. I think he is very high on draft boards around the league. Like Matthews and Adams he has terrific hands but I think he has the higher ceiling. I´m not sold on Moncrief in our system.

I had him as a 2nd rounder before his injury with arrow pointing up. I dont think he will make it past the 4th. He is also ahead of schedule with his rehab.

Donte Moncrief and Bruce Ellington are having a convo on twitter right now. 49ers should take that as a sign and draft both of them :)
