watched a bunch of his stuff on youtube. does not look like a nfl running back to me, even though, physically, he looks the part. i don't see great running instincts. rather thick for a db. taylor mays comes to mind. the guy may not have an nfl position--ever.

I was thinking 6th rounder since he still doesn't really have a position, you'd be drafting him for special teams primarily at first until he developed.

that makes sense.. easy to get high on the drill numbers.. but got to come back down to Earth.
With Baalke, who knows what hidden gems he & the scouting staff have on their draft board. So many things can and probably will happen during the draft it's literally impossible to predict what he'll do. I'm hoping for a number of guys, but have no idea who he'll take. I try not to get too high on any single player...because there are a lot of good ones and some that we may think would be good additions don't resonate w/Baalke & Harbaugh. That said, this kid's definitely intriguing...

If he's nothing more than an excellent special teams contributor, he's still worth a 6th rounder.

He would be cheaper than our other special teams aces as well. At least while he's on his rookie deal.
Everyone is a specialist in today's game, Mckinnon sounds like that almost extinct being, a football player.
I think it's difficult to project guys to the NFL that played in a wishbone style offense. His physical characteristics are obviously off the charts, but his tape is hard to find. I cut a few of his games up a month ago, and I personally think he has tremendous upside as a runner at the next level. IMO, the most impressive game was against UCA in the FCS playoff in 2012:

vs Central Arkanas http://youtu.be/Kr1RZDLDBzg
vs North Dakota State http://youtu.be/h0PFhvTT2_w
vs Georgia http://youtu.be/aLTyvacOVtI

If anyone can point me to more tape, I'd love to know where it is.

According to Pat Kirwin of cbs sports 2 teams have worked him out at cb, he might have press-man skills.

This guy has played all over the field at Georgia Southern, he has been a QB, a RB, a WR, a CB, he's got insane athleticism and has been tearing it up at the Combine. Last year his former teammate, JJ Wilcox, who transitioned from RB to safety, turned out to be a pretty good draft selection for the Cowboys. McKinnon has even crazier athletic ability and if nothing else looks like he could be a beast on special teams.

His numbers thus far from the Combine.

5'9", 209. 32 reps on the bench. 4.38 40. 40.5" vertical. 11' broad jump.

I think it's ironic that PHX created this thread
Damn you gave our boy only a 6th round rating?
