Just doing a mock draft post senior bowl but not projecting trades. And just hoping for the impossible of resigning boldin and tagging whitner.
Cut Rogers, Goodwin, Dahl, Baldwin
Don't think we will draft a second string QB probably go through free agency for a veteran back up
1. Jason Verrett CB TCU - a true nickle corner would help out our D immediately
2. DeVante Adams WR Fresno st - best receiver available probably a stretch he lasts this long.
2. Deone Buchannon SS Washington st - u should know why
3. Christian Jones OLB Florida st - athletic linebacker who can contribute on special teams
3. Weston Richburg C Colorado st - competes with Kilgore for starter
3. Dominique Easley DE Florida - depth in a year red shirt first year
4. Ricardo Allen CB Purdue - good aggressive corner special teams and develope
5. Cody Latimer WR - keep drafting WR with size and speed to develope
6. Jalen Saunders Returner/WR - could become a decent slot receiver until then handles punts
7. Aaron Corvin CB - injury special give us a year to teach him the D and can't be stolen like cooper
7. Spencer Long G - see above
7. Logan Thomas TE/QB - just a good sized football player

Not bad. I'd rather use that 3rd rounder on somebody besides Christian Jones though. Niners have good depth at OLB. I could see them taking a G/C right there

That pick I had trouble with. Just didn't see a good value there. Trade would be ideal right there. Get a future pick to package for a stud WR next year.

True. Could just be a straight up BPA pick.

I really really like this draft. I would love if it went down like that .

This is a strong draft for positions of need. I am wondering if folks realize the niners presently only have CK7 and Bethel Thompson under contract for qb. QB is the most important position on the field, and back up qb can be just as important. I would have zero issues with utilizing any of the third round or fourth round picks on qb.
Center also should be a priority, this person could be a starter on day one, making that position more important if BPA than WR. Assuming Boldin and Crabtree are back.

Looks pretty good except the OLB in round 3. We have the best 2 starters in the NFL and Skuta played great this year and Lemonier shows promise. No roster spot available. Maybe a WR there and use the 5th rounder for another position.

Good draft all around. I like the idea of trading that third round pick UNLESS we use it on a QB. We can get a decent one to develop behind Kaep next season if the staff is that shaky on Colt McCoy. Otherwise, although I like having lots of pass rushers, an OLB just won't play at all. There are literally four guys in front of him (Smith, Brooks, Lemonier, and Skuta) and at least three are going to be there for quite some time.
I do have a question though. Is a third round pick this year worth a 2nd round pick in 2015?

My take would be a solid draft except for the Jalen Saunders pick. Don't need three WR's in this draft and two KR's.
I would also look at Jeremiah Attaochu instead of Christian Jones. Better pass rusher and did take some reps inside at the Senior bowl.

Yes. As long as we trad the ones at the end of round 3. That is a move up of 25-30 slots if the 2nd rounder is a late one and if it is an early or mid 2nd rounder even better.
I know a lot of talk has been about the record number of undercalssmen , I think 98 this draft. Last year was a record too at 73. Aprox 71% of which were drafted. Math wise that means the talent in this draft should be aprox 17 slots better this year vs last year. Two years in a row a record was set. Looks like a trend and you could probably bank on a high number next year as well.
